The bathroom could use a good cleaning, but the room was OK overall. A couple of times, the staff forgot to restock the mini-bar or the free waters, but it was a good hotel overall.

Front desk lady Karen Lu was very helpful as we need to call a cab to PVG . It was less than RMB$182 so I gave him $200RMB and that’s what the lady at the front desk told me. The trip was 1.30 hour from hotel to airport. Had a wonderful time at Shanghai Tower in the evening, Yu Garden the first day.

Overall ok only.
Only the location is worth to stay, with restaurants n pubs n shopping arpund . Bathroom is not too bad, renovated. The rest of the room is old n old. N tobacco smell. Most of the sttaff has problem with smiling , let alone greets.

Very good location and nearby easy access to local business, I did not expected front desk stuff requested 200yuan for deposit, luckily, I have cash in my pocket, I am just worried if somebody don't have cash in hand and you have to pay with credit card and 3% service fee will be charged if we use no-chinese credit card. DH is in a great part of Shanghai.Lively and can be nosey but close to good transport links and the delightful French quarter.If you are on business take care-very poor Wi-fi.

It's the cheaper option for a reason
Very cramped quarters (much smaller and less furnished than the picture they show you online). My wife and I stayed there, but halfway through our stay, the hotel staff seemed to forget there was two of us and only left towels, water, etc. for one person. Also, we're pretty sure there were bed bugs; I woke up with several bug bites that weren't there when I went to sleep.

Great location in the French Concession.
Hotel is old and not a destination if you want to be entertained inside its precinct, but its so well placed for access to transport and walking trips to well known destinations ie Huaihai Road. Understands an meets travellers needs - late checkout for example can be arranged beyond normal 12pm normal time.

Conveniently located
Conveient location to several subway lines and a couple of parks with excellent restaurants, both high-end and local. I thought it curious that they had earplugs on the bedside table, until I was woken up at midnight by a thumping noise that continued until 5:30 am. Evidently there is a nightclub on the backside of the building. Even with earplugs, the noise at night was not ideal. Front desk staff professional and friendly with good english.

Not a good hotel for business trip
Location is very very good, no complains. Rooms, no complain.....except for their internet connection which is virtually non-existent. If you're travelling for business avoid this hotel as their internet connection does not work 95% of the time except if you connect between 2am - 6am!! Their internet connection definitely needs upgrading. I'm not referring to connecting to overseas websites, I'm referring to basic internet connectivity just to even check on local Chinese websites......one just basically can't connect to the WIFI.....there's no internet connection is what my computer keeps telling me which was very very frustrating as I have to then go the cafes around to get connection and spent on drinks which I don't need.

Good hotel close to subway I was able to there from airport using the subway. There restaurants and bars across the street and more with in walking distance.

I am hugely disappointed in the fact that I booked this hotel for my father in the knowledge it had a swimming pool. He is over 60 so was refused entrance to the pool. He is a retired professional underwater surveyer and pro diver. I wasted a lot of money on this. Very irritating the hotel didn't say over 60's are not allowed in the pool.

Affordable hotel in a great location
The hotel didn't have a lot of extra amenities/was pretty basic, but it was exactly what we needed and were expecting given the price point. The location near the French Concession was outstanding for the price. Lots of shops, cafes, and restaurants in the immediate area or a short walk away. Would definitely stay here again.
