The hotel is decent enough, and service is fine. With the exception of a bed that felt more like a block of wood (Chinese beds are hard, but this was hard even for a Chinese bed), the room was perfectly comfortable and clean.
The location of the hotel was the main issue for me. It's close to the old part of Shanghai (= nice), but it's at the far end of that part. There's no handy subway nearby, and the surroundings of the hotel itself are pretty drab. The Bund is a very boring 15-min walk away. Cabbies had difficulty finding the address.
Not much wrong with the hotel (might be fine for business travelers, or if you plan to take cabs anyway), but next time I'd stay in a nicer or better connected part of Shanghai.
