We did have difficulty contacting the hotel due to the phones not working. But otherwise we did have a lovely friendly welcome, dinner was excellent and rooms really comfortable with everything you need. Plenty of parking for both car and stock trailer.
Stayed for one night in double room with en-suite with breakfast.
Lovely pub some parts 500 years old. Been sympathetically updated in keeping with building clean and tidy. Wonderful ,friendly staff went out of their way to make stay comfortable. Dinner was very good I had salmon new pots and salad enough for two! Room and bed comfortable I could only find one plug so the kettle had to go on the floor to be used for tea but that may be me not finding another one. Bathroom small but adequate .Breakfast again plenty of food and they kindly filled my flask for my day ahead. Definitely recommend.
Amazing accommodation, lovely cottage feel, comfy bed, staff were great, breakfast the next day was lovely, couldnt do enough for us. 1 thing though the beer off the pump was warm and when asked about it they just said thats the way if comes off. But all in all would go back
Lovely building with beautiful interior with lots of history and the staff were really friendly.

Good for a short stopover
Stayed for 1 night. The room was clean however the shower could do with a refurb. Only 1 socket in the room. The evening meal was fine and the breakfast did the job. The host was extremely pleasant and we had a good nights sleep.

A Somerset Saver
A roadside inn with a friendly team serving hearty meals. Plenty of outside space for the odd days the British weather allows. A table d’hote menu but nonetheless sufficiently varied, I especially liked the non battered whitebait.
The en-suite rooms were clean and comfortable if a tad dated. The bed had a soft mattress but surprisingly I slept very well. Room 5 catches the traffic noise from the road somewhat, so avoid this room if that would bother you.
For the price this inn is spot on, it’s not a boutique style place with a price to match, it is a roadside stop offering a good night at a budget price.
Firstly, Geoff is an excellent and helpful host. It's a charming pub full of character. The only negative is actually a massive positive - it was a bargain!
I stayed during Glastonbury (close enough to get to and just far enough away to escape from!) and Geoff could have probably charged a higher rate considering its location and the lovely cooked breakfast.
Good location for our visit to the area rooms suitable for our needs breakfast cooked with quality ingredients host was very polite & friendly price was very good for the accomodation & breakfast would stay here again if visiting the area thank you trev for looking after us
We arrived and the host showed our room ,on the small side , duvet very warm !
Only noise we heard were from other guests rooms , doors banging and noisy fans . Pub very quiet , we were only patrons in the bar ! Friendly owner , breakfast adequate , stayed here as we were exploring other towns nearby , good parking spaces
