The service at this hotel was not up to standard. Check-in starts at 2 PM, but when we arrived around 3:30, we were given our room key only to find the room still being cleaned. We ended up waiting outside the room for nearly 20 minutes. Having stayed at numerous hotels in Japan, this is the first time I’ve encountered such an issue, which is unacceptable in the hospitality industry. There are plenty of other options near the Richmond Hotel. If I decide to stay here again in the future, I sincerely hope this doesn’t happen again.

It’s only the shuttle bus service to the airport. I was told that it’s full when I tried to book the shuttle for next early morning to the airport. Then I have to either take a cab or take the train which I did. It would be nice if they have a bigger bus or more bus to the airport during rush hour. Thanks

The hotel is not too far by train from Narita airport and because we were heading away from the city the queue to get tickets and for the train were not long. In contrast, the queues to get tickets to Tokyo city were massive! From the train station the hotel is close if you go down the series of escalators (if you go straight onto the street you'll have to walk around the long way). The selection of amenities was the best out of all the hotels we stayed in Japan, and included toothbrush and paste, razor and cream, English Breakfast teabags, drip coffee bags, creamer and sugar. The room was tiny and the carpet was shabby, but it was very clean.

This is a small room but has everything you need and more! Spotless clean rooms, a lot of free amenities, just a nice cozy Japanese hotel. The breakfast was a real introduction to Japanese cuisine. Loved our time here.

Perfect neighborhood: most excellent Ramen around the corner from hotel!! Also the temple Naritasan Shinsho-ji is a must see…especially for the lovely gardens and ponds (go off the paved areas & wander on dirt/cobbled stone paths)
