Sandy Shores at Shoal Bay

The Location - The townhouse is just 300m to the pristine and sparkling waters of Shoal Bay Beach and all the delights along the foreshore including a selection of cafes, restaurants and boutique shops There is a boat ramp, trailer parking, BBQ, picnic facilities, tennis court hire close by, bike hire, kayak and SUP in the warmer months and don't miss walking to the summit of Tomaree Mountain, which offers stunning views. Close by (2.5km's away) you have the lovely patrolled (Sep-Apr) surf beach of Fingal Bay, also offering a cafe, restaurant and children's playground, plus a great off leash dog exercising area. Nelson Bay CBD is 3.2km away, and offers boutique shopping, award winning restaurants, fishing co-op, specialty stores and dolphin cruises down at the Marina. Bagnalls beach is a lovely off leash dog friendly beach and is about 5kms from the holiday house. Please note: that the East coast of Australia is a paralysis tick area and we recommend applying precautions for paralysis tick to your dog (check with your vet).

The Townhouse - This generously proportioned townhouse is a natural entertainer, with a bright open plan living space as well as a delightful north facing balcony at the front fitted with table and chairs and a gas BBQ. The property is tiled throughout with the windows fitted with stylish plantation shutters, giving the dwelling a sense of freshness. The townhouse is also pet friendly, making this property even more appealing. The open plan living area is on the upper level and offers air conditioning, a leather corner lounge, a flat screen TV, Foxtel and a sturdy dining table and eight chairs. The well equipped kitchen comes with a full fridge/freezer, microwave, oven and stove top.

There are two bedrooms on the upper level, one offers a queen size bed, small TV and built in robes and the other has a double bed with built in robes. The main bathroom is fitted with a bath, glass shower, vanity and toilet. Downstairs is the third bedroom which offers one double and one single and has access to a rear courtyard providing outdoor furnishings and a dog bed. Also on the ground floor is the laundry with a front loading washing machine and dryer accompanied by another shower and toilet. The townhouse also offers a single lock up garage for our guests to use. There are definitely smoke alarms at this property.

Slightly Disappointed
A lil disappointment with our stay. The location is great but sadly whoever the company is that manages the cleaning services needs a tune up. I would be devastated if I was the owner paying for this service. Dust everywhere, the bedrooms clearly don’t get cleaned, even found dirty tissues under the bed. It was all just a bit grubby. Sadly the vacuum cleaner didn’t work / suck so with 2 small toddlers it wasn’t ideal. Very glad we found out b4 too late at night we had to make all the beds, found out the hard way what ‘linen packs’ meant. Sadly I would not stay again but this place really did have potential.

Nice town house
The town house was very clean and well equiped with all you need for a holiday away from home. Internet and foxtel were an added bonus. It was a nice location and very easy walking distance to the beach shops of Shoal Bay- One downside - We were there on a Fri and Sat night and the front bedroom did get a bit of street noise. Also I booked through Stayz but the property is managed by a property manager who manages a number of properties - there were additional charges as you have to pay the Stayz fee- All communication was via my email not through the Stayz system. It felt it also the personal touches you get when booking with host direct - I would book direct with property manager next time and not his Stayz.

Great Value for money
Awesome location! Very well equipped kitchen, foxtel and Netflix handy in wet weather. Would just be mindful of stair case with toddlers but there is a baby gate in the garage.

Loved this property! It was clean, crisp, comfortable and had everything you could need away from home. Beds were very clean and comfortable, the lounge area was very clean and comfortable. A quick walk to the Main Street and beach and loved having the garage to park car safely and bikes.
