Our suite consisted of a very large living and dining room, with the spectacularly painted, coffered ceiling one would expect in a Renaissance Palazzo; a large bedroom - with an equally ornate ceiling, and a very comfortable bed with lovely linens; a well-equipped kitchen that includes a clothes washer; and a very modern bathroom. The pictures are completely accurate.
The Palazzo is extremely convenient for all Siena’s sites. Il Campo, the Duomo and the other Basilicas are easy walks. There are endless numbers of great restaurants, coffee shops, pastry and gelato shops within feet of the front door.
This is a very old building, with a small number of apartments, so it doesn’t have all the amenities of a large hotel. But if you like the idea of living in quiet grandeur, this is the place. And it has excellent tv and WiFi service, and powerful air conditioning, which was important when the outside temperature pushed 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Parking is not super convenient, but it’s manageable. We found the location of the hotel and the charm to far outweigh what for us was a minor inconvenience of parking.
We want to complete the review by mentioning Michelle, who manages the facility wonderfully. She gave excellent advice on restaurants, festivals, opera performances and tourist sites. Michelle is a gem.
We liked this place so much we extended our stay and would love to come back.
