The Good: The Staff, especially in the bar, were exceptionally professional, helpful, and, most of all friendly.
The Okay: The room wasn't particularly spacious, and the only place to sit was one rather uncomfortable chair at the desk...or on the bed.
The Odd: No shower door. You had to be very careful not to get water all over the toilet, and you had a puddle of water outside the shower when you were finished, no matter what.
The Bad: Without notice, and despite the "do not disturb sign," the staff (and/or contractors) entered the room to replace the mattress (n.b., the old mattress was quite comfortable, the new one seemed different, due to a pillowtop, but not actually better). What if I'd had evidence of the Kennedy assassination lying about? A very disturbing invasion of privacy...in the process, they partially cleaned, but it was incomplete and what they did and didn't clean seemed random. For example, they took the used water glass, but didn't replace it...
The Warning: There's a bad grocery store a block away, but no restaurants nearby. You have to take the train or bus to eat anywhere but in the hotel (and the menu is good, but limited). Recommendation: Kashmir, an Indian restaurant, in Echterdingen is excellent, and a reasonable walk from the nearest stop on the U-6.
The life hack: In Germany, Sunday is a true day of rest. Nothing other than hotels and restaurants will be open. But this hotel is convenient to the airport, with its 24/7 Edeka.
