From Skagway to the Ferry to WA
This little house has just about everything you will need for a short stay in Skagway. We enjoyed the front porch both in the morning and evenings. You can walk to everything and we only rented a car because we wanted to go to Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory. We loved our stay and will stay here again if we are in Skagway again!

Lovely and Cozy
This home is conveniently located close to the airport and ferry dock. Perfect if you dont have a car. The house is small and so tastefully decorated with everything you need. We loved our stay and loved Skagway. Denise had some great tips on things to do and was a very helpful host. Highly recommend the cable house.

Overnight stay
The house is nondescript from the outside, but beautiful, clean, quaint and very comfortable on the inside. The owners were helpful and made sure everything was in order. Overall it was a great experience.

Perfect house in Skagway
My mom, aunt and I were visiting my son who is a guide during the summer in Skagway. This was the perfect house for the 3 of us. Its location was close to everything yet felt removed from the hustle and bustle of downtown. The house was clean, quaint and had everything we needed, even bicycles. Denise was a pleasure to work with. I would absolutely stay here again. And the best part was being able hang our laundry out on the line to dry in the fresh Alaskan air.

Little house on the tarmac
Well kept house in final stages of refurbishing. Everything was pleasant and in quiet part of town. An occasional small airplane landing or taking off was not a problem.

History, Peace and Touched by Love
It was a wonderful place to call out home base. We had adventures in Skagway and came "home" to sleep. The house is three rooms, has three stain glass windows, a wood stove in the center of the living area, a footed tub but also has a shower, it was redone with lots of tender loving care that brought many a smile to my face. Location: The house is right next to the airport landing strip. It is two blocks from the center of Skagway including the train depot and park center. It is surrounded by mountains and sits at the upper end of the Inside Passage. It is a quiet place and has been since it was built in 1904. It is a piece of history and an unique place to stay in this town filled and made by history.

Unique Stay
We really enjoyed our stay at the Cable House. It is very convenient to the main street and sights, AK ferry and railroad. But with just a few blocks walk off the main street we were in a quiet neighborhood making it easy to stop for a rest. It is a lovely space inside, invoking the past, yet comfortable. There are good trails nearby. Highly recommended.

I can’t wait to stay again!
This house is the perfect blend of historic charm and modern convenience. I stayed for a few weeks for work and it was just perfect. Denise has not only beautifully restored this historic building into a charming home, but apportioned it wonderfully (claw foot bathtub, bamboo sheets, soft towels, and plenty of items to enjoy cooking in the kitchen when you don’t feel like heading out to dine). Nice little deck for enjoying the sun in the mornings and a fire pit in the side yard for the evenings. I can’t recommend it enough for a short or extended visit to Skagway. Super convenient to the airport and ferry. And of course, the begonia garden out front brought many smiles while I was coming and going during my stay.

A Great Surprise in Skagway
Denise has transformed her 1904 cottage into a terrific destination on your Alaska itinerary. Don't be fooled by the exterior - which retains the feel of what the original cottage must have looked like - the interior has been outfitted into one of the most comfortable and nicely appointed places we have stayed in quite a while. You will love Denise's new bathroom, as well as the large comfortable bed and living area. Although we didnt use the kitchen - it was attractive and had everything we would have needed to prepare our own meals. The location was right next to the airport - which, inspite of being mid-summer - was not busy. We only saw two planes land in the day we were there - a small Cessna and the 6-seater that flew us back to Juneau. Denise couldn't have been nicer or any more accommodating - she picked up our luggage at the ferry when we arrived - we opted to walk to her property - it was only six short blocks or so. Actually, it seemed like everything in town was only a few blocks away. We walked over to the White Pass railroad from her place, as well as all the places we ate (and drank)- as well as the 300 yds to the airport terminal. You couldnt do any better the Denise's cottage for your stay in Skagway!

Pefect and charming cottage!!!
This cozy cottage was the PERFECT home base when we visited my son while he was working in Skagway. SInce everything in town is within walking distance, the location next to the airport was ideal. It was a short walk into town, and, when we left for home, an even shorter walk with our bags back to the airport. Why the bags only on our way BACK to the airport????? Because the charm of this property is matched only by the charm of it's lovely owner, Denise. Before out trip, she was always quick to reply to any messages or questions, and, since I was unsure of the distance with bags, she met us at the airport in her too cute VW van. She walked us to the property, giving us a free insight into the town and her cottage, and then she walked back and drove our luggaege over for us, However, it was so close, we didn't really need the transport! Denise checked on us regularly during our stay, and even invited us to a workshop she was going to since it had been raining so much. I am oddly proud to say we were her first guests, and there weren't even any of the "growing pains" or mishaps that usually come along with being a "first". If you are going to visit Skagway for more than a cruise stop, and I suggest you do so and get to know the sweet locals in this beautiful area, this is the PERFECT place!!!!!
