We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The premium room with a king bed was wonderful. It had everything we needed, the bed was super comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. The evening meal was very tasty as was the breakfast. No complaints at all. I will definitely stay again.
I experienced an unfortunate and discriminatory incident at a The Holiday Inn Slough, Longon. Upon arriving, the first security guard informed me that they did not allow Black individuals into the hotel. However, when he realized I was recording, his tone shifted, and he claimed that I did not have a reservation. I was initially denied entry based on my race. After I continued recording, the security staff allowed me in, but then stated that the hotel was closed to the public and that my reservation had been made in error.
Really disappointed. Shower ceiling peeling away. Air con wouldn’t work in the room, it was a like a sauna. Breakfast was extra and was cold raised with waitress and front desk. Waitress - I'll speak to chef about temperature. Reception not even an acknowledgment. The other thing is at the restaurant they now have an iPad to order your food and change an auto gratuity. Really strange as I’m self serving in terms of ordering.
Fab stay lovely hotel, only downside was some of the breakfast staff had terribly smelling body odour, reaching across your table to clear plates made it insanely obvious, it was enough to put you off your breakfast!
Check-in was definitely not hassle free. After being told I need to pay at the hotel for my booking and the following 15 minutes of them double checking that I had in fact paid in advance through expedia, I was given an apology. I checked in at 4pm only to be told the room was not ready, even though check-in is at 3pm. The bedroom mattress was as thick as a pancake and uneven, the bathroom was shabby, and the extraction fan did not work. Thankfully, I was only there for 1 night, I will not be visiting this establishment again.

Check in was very slow. Apparently some computer glitch.
Booked 2 rooms as we were taking Nanna with us and we were given connecting rooms. The 2 rooms had 2 large beds each and were a good size with plenty of room.
Breakfast was good and all staff were polite and friendly.
