We arrived to find our reservation for two queen beds was not honored—even though we booked in advance for three adults. The hotel was oversold, and our reserved room was given away. We were offered one of two remaining rooms: a king or a king with a sleeper sofa directly off the noisy lobby. We took the latter, only to find the sleeper mattress wrapped in shrink wrap (we were later told it was to keep bugs off). The hotel gave us a set of sheets and expected us to make the bed ourselves—still no mattress pad and no blanket. They wanted our son to sleep on plastic with no proper bedding. We had to find him a room at another hotel last-minute, which cost $300/night due to local events.
Housekeeping never cleaned our room. When we asked about it, the front desk told us we were supposed to request service in advance—something we were never informed about. They also didn’t give us clean towels; we were told we had to bring our used towels to the front desk to exchange them. Again, no one ever told us this.
When I raised concerns with the manager, she escalated to the owner, who offered a mere 25% discount. I requested a complimentary night, since I needed to a room at another hotel,which was denied.
The hallways smelled, the carpet in our room was sticky, and the nightstand was pulled from the wall. This experience was unacceptable. I will never stay at a Comfort Inn again—especially this one
