A Perfect Waterfront Getaway with Wildlife and Local Charm
This was our second time staying at this lovely VRBO in Weeki Wachee, and it was just as perfect as the first! The house was spotless, well-maintained, and ideal for a couple. Most of our time was spent on the upstairs patio, which offers the best view of the water. We were lucky enough to spot manatees regularly and even caught a glimpse of the famous dolphins of the river! Our visit was at the beginning of April, and despite the warm weather with highs in the 90s, the wildlife sightings were plentiful. The weekends are lively with great people-watching, while the weekdays offer a serene and peaceful retreat. We also took advantage of exploring the area. The Nature Coast Botanical Gardens was a delightful (and free!) escape, tucked away in a charming neighborhood. Another highlight was our trip to the Aripeka Stone Crab Company. The drive through the low country of Florida to this old-fashioned fishing village is stunning, and the experience was well worth it. We tried the smoked salmon and fish spread. Both AMAZING!We can’t recommend this place enough for anyone looking to enjoy the natural beauty and unique charm of Weeki Wachee.
