Tiki bar by pool and towel hut closed for our stay. Only restaurant inside and we had to walk back and forth to order food and drinks. With the amount of people staying for the holiday they could have offered more bar/food services. At night they close at 10pm so you need to get food by the time kitchen closes. Servers seemed bothered with guests being there to eat. You have to drive to get food nearby. The room rate was very high for the amenities provided. Front desk staff was friendly as well as the transportation service. Maids all very helpful. Decor is nice. Lobby is closed 11pm-6am.
Other than the first evening listening to a large dog barking across the hall we enjoyed this beautiful hotel. Weather was bad but that wasn’t something they could control.

Pretty view rooms need a special touch
The location of this hotel is beautiful right on the water for wonderful Long Beach walks. The restaurant is very good and well priced, so is the welcome lobby main area.
However the building with all the rooms could use some care and improvement. Though we enjoyed our ocean view, the room itself lacked.
Our toilet kept running the whole stay as it was broken, so was the sink drainage. They had nothing extra as far as, coffee amendments, no qtips etc in the bathroom. There was no rugs in our room, and the tv was a smart tv but had been fully disabled which was a bummer on rainy days. Just a little extra care to the rooms and the place would be fantastic. Bring the quality of the front lobby and restaurant area to the rooms and you have a lovely hotel.
The location is great right on the beach, and close to Old Town. The lobby areas in the main building are nice. Restaurant was also good. Rooms and corridors could use some updating. Dogs barking at night or for long periods can become an issue if they are left alone as happen during our stay. The property has no way of dealing with this issue except to try contacting the owner and asking them to return to tend to their pet. Staff was kind enough to relocate us to another room. Housekeep and Maintenance staff were very accommodating. Overall if you travel with your pet it is a great place stay. I will be sure to check pet policy more closely before my next trip and will chose to elsewhere.
The room floor was dirty. The bathroom was very small, dirty as well, and no space to put the toiletries. Everybody had dogs, you could hear a lot of noises at night.
The best parts are the lobby and an open room with couches and the hotel has plenty of parking spaces.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Our first assigned room had a sulfur odor from the plumbing. We called downstairs and were readily assigned a new room and were given vouchers for breakfast and drinks at their bar/restaurant. Special recognition for Kordel, the hotel employee who helped us switch rooms - very attentive and responsive to our concerns.
Santiago’s restaurant was great for breakfast (excellent biscuits and yogurt parfaits)…
Overall, a good experience. Would recommend it for anyone staying in the area.
Property was great- clean and well taken care of. Loved being able to walk outside and right onto the beach. Staff was incredible! From the front desk to the housekeeping crew to the gift shop and maintenance man- they are all such a pleasure.
My only gripe is that there doesn’t seem to be any sound proofing in the walls and I could hear everyone’s conversations in the hallway and the rooms nearby. Our neighbors got into a raging argument one morning and woke us up with their cursing. I could hear every word, I couldn’t get away from it even when turning on a white noise app.
I really like that the hotel is okay with people leaving their dogs in the room when they run to dinner and whatnot- many places do not allow this and it made it less stressful to set my dog up comfortably in the room than leave him in the car while at a restaurant.
Quick one night stay to see the Christmas lights at St. Augustine. Nice clean hotel.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The photographer for this property did a fantastic job making it look new and modern, but, unfortunately, this is a very old hotel in need of serious room renovations to justify $300 a night. This was incredibly overpriced for the condition of the property. The lobby, shop, restaurant, tiki bar area and access to beach are great and the music was perfect and set the proper tone. The pool needs a little help but no big deal. The room is the problem - the bathroom needs a proper remodel - not just a modern vanity and pretty mirror. The AC mini split is outdated and noisy and the door to the balcony is creepy - rip it all out and put in some decent sliders or at least a pretty French door. Add some more of Guy Harvey’s beautiful paintings and the room will be set to go. Just my two cents but I wouldn’t pay more than $125 a night for this place. Until then I won’t be back.
