We come to St.Augustine often, but this was our first stay at Marion Motor Lodge. We chose it for the nostalgia, and it did not disappoint. The outside looks like memories from my childhood, staying in motor lodges on family road trips, but the rooms are updated and modern. Our room was clean and stocked with convenient amenities, such as an actual Keurig machine, microwave, small refrigerator, and many other things to make our room feel like home away from home. There were a couple minor negatives I’d like to address in hopes this can be addressed. 1.) shower could have been hotter. No fun taking a lukewarm showers when it’s cold outside. 2.) no hooks to hang towels or washcloths in shower area. There were hooks in room, but it would be nice to have them in actual shower area. Minor things..but important at the time. Now for the very best part…LOCATION AND VIEW. We were on 2nd floor in the middle and had a perfect view of the water and marina area. Fun to see the pirate ship all lit up for Christmas. We walked everywhere with ease. Tons of restaurants, bars, shops and beautiful old houses to stroll past. We brought our little pup and he was happy too, and we had lots of places to walk him. The check in lady was very pleasant and even came up to our room when we checked in to help us with the T.V. I’m already thinking of our next visit and will probably stay somewhere different, but not because I don’t love Marion Lodge or recommend it…but because we like to switch things up.
