Very good

Olivers Lodge is certainly a bit tired and run down these days, but it is clean, quiet, in a great location for St Ives and the bus to Cambridge and, perhaps most importantly, the staff are lovely, the breakfast is excellent, and it offers great VFM.

I have stayed at Olivers Lodge a few times in the past but pre Covid . It felt like the accommodation had fewer staff, there was no one around to check in when I arrived early . Also it was disappointing to find that paper cups are now being used for teas and coffee and juices at breakfast in the morning. Whilst I have always been happy with my stays here, there was a sense of tiredness and neglect around the place . The staff however remain friendly.

A few days in St Ives
OK, so the property looks a little tired, but we were more than happy with our stay here and have booked again for a music festival in September. The location is great (a 5 minute walk into St Ives or the bus to Cambridge), all of the hotel staff are really warm and friendly, the breakfast is excellent and the rooms are clean - so for the money it is great !
Family run business, inexpensive, welcoming, attentive staff. Good breakfast, easy parking. Would benefit from redecoration, and attention to poor condition of rear parking area. Overall, a good place to stay in an interesting small town.
Staff where great however the hotel is very tired, no bar open, no food available until Jan 22?? Rooms are very minimal and untidy. Shower doesn't work so well?
Check in was quick and friendly. The room was nice and the wifi was great (other hotels take note!).
The breakfast was very basic for what I paid but that was a temporary measure.
Free parking was a bonus.
