Party outside our window in parking lot until 1215. They stayed above us and woke us all up at 630 am. I called at 1145 and 1205. They said they will wrap up in 15 minutes playing a speaker outside our window and beer clanging even after they saw us walk in with small children. They said fhey are mexican? I just said and fhey cant do in their room, it has to be outside our window by the door? It took forever to even check in. They knew the party was happening but put us in the middle of it anyway.
Ok I will start by saying I NEVER leave bad reviews, and I understand all about getting what you pay for. I reserved this “budget friendly” hotel based on my good experience with using Expedia and trusting the website.
I reserved a single non smoking room with two beds for my handicapped mom and me just to get a little bit of rest and a shower. My expectations were not very high. This was the 12th or 13th day on the road and head home from a coast to coast driving vacation (road-trip) to see some sights and take mom to some places she has never been to.
During checkin I was informed that because we were checking in after 8 pm they no longer had any rooms with two beds, ok so we went up stairs to see if we could make do with the one bed. No it wasn’t an option for mom and me to share the bed, neither one of would have gotten any rest. Since the advertised Expedia price was reasonable and because we were both very exhausted I went back to the front desk to see if there was anything else available, instead of just loading back up in the car to try to find another hotel.
In very broken English I was informed that I could rent another room on the first floor. Ok so now I am investing almost $200 for the two rooms oh and the is a $100 deposit per room if you smoke in the room on damage anything. I have rented hundreds of hotel rooms in my 55 years and it is not uncommon to have to leave a deposit on a credit card “just in case” ….
DO NOT expect anything but the BARE necessities that you would give to someone destitute. Don’t even ask for it to be CLEAN TOWELS or A/C to work because they’re going to just lie to you & tell you warm air is suppose to blow out, then say we have no other rooms, then act like they don’t understand no further English! Even though Checkout is at 11am, they come BEAT ON YOUR DOOR UNTIL YOU WAKE UP AND ANSWER IT at 6am with saying “ARE YOU OK?” First time I thought it was a cultural difference when they lie then tell the truth the moment they think they’re going to loose a customer. Second time I knew it was just how they’re operating the business and apparently something has taken place there traumatic or they’re trying to operate it like an hourly stay hotel.
