We’ve stayed at the Home 2 Suites St. Louis Downtown before and have always liked the location, especially since it’s so close to the Enterprise Center. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing. We arrived a little after 4:00 p.m., which is the listed check-in time, and the lobby was packed with guests trying to check in. There were only two employees working the front desk, so the line was long. When we finally reached the desk, we were told our room wasn’t ready — and we were just one of many guests being told the same thing. Frustrated, I used the app to check in so we could at least go get dinner while waiting. We finally received a notification at 4:55 p.m. that our room was ready. When we returned to the hotel, we discovered their parking lot was already full and had to find parking elsewhere. After finally getting to our room, things didn’t improve. The floors were sticky, the toilet paper dispenser was partially ripped out of the wall, and there were still dishes left in the dishwasher. On the last day of our stay, I went to the fitness room to work out. When I finished and headed back to my room, a man who had been wandering around watching people followed me down the hall toward my room. I’m not sure what his intentions were, but it was unsettling. Overall, while the location is convenient, that’s where the positives end for us. Based on this experience, we won’t stay here again.

Our room was clean and very comfortable. Warm water was very slow to arrive in the shower (5 minutes) and then it was lukewarm. The elevators were a problem. Only one working with a full hotel. Breakfast was decent .

Everything about this hotel, its location, the breakfast area, views and the rooms, you would think I would be giving a 5 star review. But everything about our stay, came with a huge headache. There is no on site free parking. There is nowhere to pull up in front to run in and check in. There is no free public parking lot anywhere near this hotel. You have to either pay a ridiculous amount to have Valet parking or, try and find a street parking spot in the area and pay the meter fee. Oh it’s free after 7 but you have to make sure to start paying the meter by 8 am or you risk a ticket. Absolutely beautiful hotel and the room was fantastic. Breakfast was disappointing, nothing fancy.

When I booked the room on the site it said that pets stay free. When I got to the hotel check in they said it would be a 75 dollar fee. I showed on the website that it currently said pets stay free and I was told that it wasn’t true and hadn’t been updated yet and it was a 75 dollar fee. Part of the reason I booked this room over another is because I was told a pet can stay free.
