Stay was ok..
Receptionist was a little rude. Room was worn down and old fashioned. It was supposed to be a ‘desirable’ room but left a lot to be desired but the bed was comfy enough. Waited over 20 minutes to be seated for breakfast and staff were muttering under their breath in annoyance and stomping around slamming items down - when they spoke to you they were friendly enough. Breakfast was really good when we eventually had it. Overpriced - wouldn’t stay there again.

Tired and dated
The place generally was a bit tired. We booked the delux room and the bed was 2 singles pushed together which wasnt great. Id expect at the minimum a double bed if not a king size. There was thick layers of dust on the lamps and the decor was tired. The sockets were poorly placed and there was no where charge your phone near the bed. Overall i would say our stays in premier inns were alot better. The bathrooms were tired and have a shower over bath which again was tired woth poor finishes. Thr location was good thats the only real positive.

Terrible breakfast
I don't normally review, which I will do going forward, as I should give both good and bad reviews. Breakfast was a poor show. Cheap black pudding / eggs not cooked (white uncooked egg slime) / bacon rock hard and inedible. Staff didn't check if everything was okay. Looked for the server, but didn't see them. Eat some of the the food. Was expecting much better quality. I stay in a lot of hotels that have cost less, but much better service and quality of food.

Expected higher standards
We weren’t informed before arrival that there was on-going maintenance in the reception area. A temporary reception was located in the building next door & if it wasn’t for a note on the entrance door then we wouldn’t have known. Booked a ‘comfortable double room’ & it clearly stated 1x double bed; I got 2x single beds (see photos for more). I wasn’t impressed with the bathroom door, it was translucent, anybody the other side of the door could clearly see in. There was no privacy- no lock on the door either. The hotels positioning also meant that the curtains/voile needed to be closed unless you wanted the public to see in to your room! The ‘free’ facilities for hot water (tea or coffee) should be out on display & the added ‘tuck’ snacks should be in a different location (cupboard) with a clear message to say that these are additional & further payments will need to be made on check-out. The prices were extortionate for the snacks too! £2.50 for a can of pop!!!!!! If there are 2 people staying, then the room should allocate for that many people. We only received 1 key card. There was 1x face cloth, 1x hand towel & it was only through searching in the cupboard that there was an extra body towel or there would have only been 1 of those too. Service for breakfast on the 5th floor was okay.

Great location overlooking river Dee and racecourse. Amazing views from restaurant! Breakfast was really good with lots of choice. Rooms clean, tidy and functional. We found bed very soft but that is our personal feeling. Easy underground parking at reasonable cost. Short walk to city centre. We would definitely stay here again.
