Manager cancelled reservation evening of arrival
Unfortunately I'm unable to provide details about this hotel because the manager cancelled my reservation, that was made weeks earlier, as I was traveling to Clearwater. Hours before I expected to arrive I received a message that my reservation was cancelled. When I called the hotel I was told the manager cancelled my reservation. The reason I was given was the wrong rate code was used weeks earlier. It was late by the time I arrived at Tampa airport and I was unable to locate another room. My wife and I, both in our mid 60s, attempted to sleep in the car at the airport because this hotel manager cancelled our reservation. Hotels.com was unable to do anything to assist.

EXCELLENT VALUE
Y'know, I don't usually do things like writing reviews online for businesses with which I have interactions, but I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of our room and all the fittings and accoutrement. You see, my girlfriend and I were looking for something pretty particular location-wise and had stayed many times in other nearby hotels becoming fairly accustomed to a certain level of "niceness," which is to say that we usually stayed at somewhat — but only somewhat — swankier establishments. This particular weekend was one where there's a lot of stuff going on and rooms are hard to come by, and as such we were unable to secure accomodations in any of the usual stand-byes. But looking at the photos on the website, reading the comments and our snug budgetary limitations convinced us to roll the dice — we had seen rather disqualifying comments about ANOTHER, DIFFERENT nearby LaQuinta. And I gotta say, it's very good for the money! Saved probably $75-100/night compared to some of the joints we usually frequent and the quality and the general "niceness" of the room was very nearly on a par with its pricier competition. So much so that I actually felt compelled to write this online review — I was *that* positively impressed! Location was not particularly scenic, but things were clean, everything you'd expect was where you'd expect it to be, good water pressure, guy at the desk was very nice and warm, they indulged a couple of picayune requests... etc. etc. yada yada...

Great hotel
Awesome place, centrally located. Very clean, courteous service and accommodating during our evacuation from 2 hurricanes. Lovely area in back for walking the dog. You would never know this is a pet friendly hotel because it is very clean and fresh. Staff is kind and courteous. Would definitely stay again.
