I was pleased to be able to stay at this hotel. It was difficult to check in because I was not having any success using my American telephone to call the number listed on the front door. Someone from a store across the street came over and figured it out.

The room smelled very bad and the beds and pillows too. The concierge attended only by phone, very bad experience! The city and place around the hotel is beautiful.

Clan and cozy hotel in a picturesque village
Clean and neat hotel in a quiet and quaint part of Germany. Walking distance to train station. Comfortable beds. Full-open windows and powerful fan was a big plus for us.

Nice inexpensive place.
I was there on a Sunday night in March. Definitely not tourist season, but that made it more enjoyable for me. Beautiful town. The hotel itself is old, but clean. Spacious room. Older furniture. Great WiFi.

Excellent
Highly recommended. Like most older hotels, it's a bit noisy at times. It fronts on to a square so weekend nights might get a little rowdy (but not for long). It's a quiet town anyway so not a real concern. I enjoyed my stay here and would choose it next time.

Good location
We were told the hotel is 400 years old and there is a dining room which shows the old grandeur. But the guest rooms are small, basic and OK for one night stays. The breakfast is also OK. The best thing about the hotel is its location which is just a few minutes from JS Bach's church, his rather odd statue and the town centre.

Positiv: auch ohne Rezeption bekam man per Schlüsseltresor seinen Zimmerschlüssel. Negativ: die Matratzen hatten ihre besten Jahre, ist leider nichts für Menschen mit Rückenproblemen. Das Bad war durch eine defekte Falttür „abgegrenzt“. Da wird ein Toilettengang zum besonderen Erlebnis. Frühstück gibt’s von 8-10 Uhr. Ok. Aber wer um 9 kommt, hat nur noch die Hälfte vom Buffet angetroffen. Ein sehr sehr ländliches Aufbahren von Wurst und Käse, wie ich es von meinen Großeltern her kenne. Ohne Rührei und ohne frischem Obst. 2 verschrumpelte Äpfel warteten vergeblich auf Verwertung. Joghurt aus dem Rewe-Eimer… Frischkäse aus dem handelsüblichen Bukobecher… Schade… Golden ist diese Henne leider nicht mehr, und auch das Federvieh als „Motto“ spiegelt sich hier nicht wieder. Außer der Gast entflieht wie ein Huhn dem Kochtopf….

Älteres Gasthaus ohne Restaurantbetrieb, aber Zimmereinrichtung gut. Kein Duftwaschpulver und kein Zwangsbeduftung irgendwo. Das ist auf jeden Fall sehr gut! Gutes Kopfkissen (kein "Gummikopfkissen").

Wir hatten ein Familienzimmer. Dieses war sehr geräumig. Komplette Ausstattung mit Handtüchern. Leise, die Nachbarn haben wir nicht gehört. Nicht gefallen hat uns die Bettwäsche, alt und vergilbt. Gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.
