Sorry but its 2021 not 2012. The world relies on the internet so to have it available in one corner where you have to stand on a chair and tilt your phone backwards and forwards for 10 minutes is ridiculous.
Its a pretty hotel in a great building with a decent bar and restaurant but no in the room wifi on a working trip is a deal breaker for me.
Well located, food was good and staff/service were/was very friendly, but rooms have seen better days, beds were rock hard and my window catches were broken, so couldn't be shut - which was a problem as it was quite noisy outside. Had the worst night sleep I've had in a long time, so unlikely to stay again.
It was comfortable for the one night. The restaurant was chaos in the morning. Impatient people pushing in at breakfast and not following social distancing guidance. Bedroom was tidy but no remote for the tv. Requested a remote for room easily.

Clean hotel, but a little tired
Stayed in July 2021, the hotel was clean, as was our room, but it just feels a little tired and in need of updating. Our room was very warm, but luckily there was a fan provided. Overall an OK stop off on a long journey, and the main thing was it was clean throughout.
The free car is dependent on arrival time, we were lucky to get one of the last spaces, but didn't like that fact the public can access it, when I went back down later to get something from the car there were people sat drinking out there which made me feel uncomfortable and a bit wary whether the car may get damaged.
The location for shops, restaurants and amenities is perfect. Very welcoming, felt really comfortable.

Everything that could be wrong was wrong
When we got to our booked “family room” that should’ve been a double with a single or a sofa bed we walked into a twin room with no sofa bad made up. I asked receptionist if we were in the right room to be told yes but as if booked after 2pm housekeeping have gone so I’d have to make up the sofa bed myself! She gave me the keys to the room Nextdoor to see if that was made up just to check but it wasn’t, I helped myself to 2 pillows and the towels to finish up making my room though.
Dinner wasn’t much better, service to be seated was incredibly slow, the waitress brought my boy’s food with no cutlery and looked shocked when we asked for some, then did the same when my wife and my food came! The food (we both had lamb) was incredibly tasty so big plus on food quality (the only positive).
On return to the room we got to bed but one bed had a totally slopping matress, it had gone on one side meaning we had one twin bed and a sofa bed which I ended up sharing with my 4 year old.
After a dreadful nights sleep we thought we’d get showered and leave, well that would’ve been nice if the shower worked! Just a dribble. So on leaving we advised receptionist of all this and left to get some breakfast elsewhere.
If you are looking to stay in the area I’d have a look at other options, I paid over £100 and could’ve stayed in a Holiday Inn cheaper but we like try the non chains. On this occasion I think we chose wrong.
We checked in and the receptionist lacked any people skills. No eye contact, barely said two words to us. During our stay she was most unhelpful with cold word answers and no efforts to help or give information. She was very timid and seemed to be in the wrong role in such a customer facing job. Sharon I believe her name was.
The original room we were given was ghastly. Small, very dated and barely enough room to have a suitcase and two people. The bed was two singles clipped together and was tiny. We complained and got upgraded to a bigger room which was much better. It was worn and very dated, chipped furniture and the ceiling could do with replastering as it was full of dents and bumps.
I called the restaurant to see what time they served food, we were told 21:30. We arrived just before 21:00 to be turned away and told the girl who had informed us of this was in fact lying. They wouldn’t serve us anything, even a side dish or anything even though people had reserved tables still.
The housekeeper didn’t come to the room one during our 5 night stay. I accept due to covid 19 there’s limits but for 5 nights it would have been nice to have our bin replaced and some more tea or coffee. I had to keep asking for bin bags and an extra toilet roll, which was annoying as the receptionist was so incapable of communicating.
The housekeeper finally showed her face on check out, banging and thudding so loud on our door 15mins before check out. Really rude and aggressive.
Nice size room plenty space even with a travel cot. Meals were lovely

Low standard of cleanliness!!
Found Aragogs ( Harry Potter spider) brother between the pillows!! Complained and had to insist bedding changed as the manager couldn’t careless , and just shrugged his shoulders. In the morning found a slug at the bottom of the bed.
Breakfast was good but done buffet style like covid hadn’t happened- I was shocked!!
Chances of staying here ever NIL
Never ever given a review like this before. It looked so good on entry
