This was a frustrating stay. I booked my hotel room last minute in a location near a festival. What attracted me was the room size & kitchenette. When I arrived, I asked whether I could use my Miles&More number. I was told to do it at checkout. What I was given looked nothing like what I'd booked. It was small, dirty & stuffy w/ dust everywhere & stains on the furniture. No kitchenette, no fridge, etc. I called a hotels.com representative & they let me know my room could be changed the next morning. I went to my function, came back, & rested. I awoke w/ congestion. I showered, packed, & went down to change my room. The gentleman began to say "but you stayed a night". Yea... because I arrived at 2130 & had somewhere else to be. It turns out, they'd put me into the wrong room. I can only assume an assumption about me was made because I paid for a specific room. He asked if I had proof there was a problem with the room. I showed him pictures. Either way, it was the wrong room. I changed to the correct room & it was COMPLETELY different. You couldn't have convinced me that these were the same hotel. However, as soon as I checked the bedding, they're were boogers on the bedding. The backup/extra blanket had what looked like blood stains. I called down for a new blanket & was assured someone would come get the old ones the next morning. They didn't. When it came time to check out, they refused to add my Miles&More number. I don't think they expected me to speak up about my room.

Kitchenette was nice. Would have been better to also include a microwave. I like being able to cook my own meals. Sometimes a quick meal is needed. Having to go down to the community area to use the microwave was inconvenient.

It is somewhat difficult to find the entrance in the back of the mercure hotel passing the too full carbage cans and the facility tech. machines. Also the marketing photos sold it to us with a swimming pool and as it was blocked with high ugly metal fences especially our kids first impression was a deep disappointment. We checked in the kids crying..nice. The facilities inside was ok and the mercure people at their reception very helpful.
