I was not able to check in as the manager and front desk staff want to hard copy my driver’s license and I refused to let them copy for privacy reason. I did show them the ID but they insisted on getting a hard copy and refused me to stay. I request the refund from both Expedia and the Inn, and it’s not refunded yet. I will raise the privacy issue and file a complaint with California Consumer Protection agency. There is no reason they need a hard copy of my ID, it’s a violation of privacy. I am a Diamond member at Hilton and a Totanium member at Marriott, all their hotel properties check for physical ID, but no one hard-copies it.
I need to get the refunds for not staying at the Inn last night.
Thank you, and please reply to my email: qihua@yahoo.com for resolution.
Thank you and best regards,
