This is a beautiful, architecturally designed, retro-infused fun three bedroom, two bathroom house and garden situated in the gorgeous Bundeena village in the magical Royal National Park. With parklands and playgrounds across the road and the beach 3 mins walk away, it’s impossible not relax and soak up the vintage holiday vibe of the Royale.
This architecturally designed, newly built, two-storey house has become one of Bundeena’s most exciting new additions, over 2 levels of The Royale captures the spirit and fun of classic Australian beach house life. The house opens up via sliding cavity doors, bi folds and louvres to embrace it's beautiful surroundings. The westerly facing top deck has a stunning aspect out across the Bundeena parklands with a glorious sunset view. The gardens are fully fenced and every part has somewhere to sit, and take it all in.

A wedding anniversary to remember
We recently stayed at the Royale in Bundeena to celebrate my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary, and it was an unforgettable experience. The setting is spectacular, and the modern retro vibe of the house is fabulous. My parents found a set of playing cards from 1974, the year they were married! It truly felt like it was meant to be. The hosts were always easy to contact and accommodating. The attention to detail in the house was outstanding. The house had everything we needed and more. This was easily the best place we’ve stayed in, and can’t recommend it enough. My kids had a blast playing in the garden and the playground just across the road. The beach was only a short stroll away. Wonderful wonderful experience 😊

Joyful home in amazing location
A fun, beautiful and thoughtful small house with fab interiors that is 2 mins walk to an amazing swimming beach, and 15 mins walk along same beach to the village centre. It looks out over parkland and playgrounds with incredible birdlife. A very special place. Thanks Courtney and Angus!

Everything exactly as the photos, but a lot of thought has been put in to making this a good guest experience, with lots of handy notations for facilities and expectations and a printed out booklet on the place and the area. Nice balcony up top for the end of the day and walking distance to everything.

70’s Retro Relaxo!!
We loved staying at the house. It was a step back in time. Decorated in bright colors, gorgeous little details and retro vibes. Easy stroll to the beach and great access. Courtney was on standby for all our needs even though she was overseas in another time zone. The layout was perfect for us 2 adults & 3 kids. We will be back. Loved every minute.

A very cool retro style house
This is the second time I've stayed at Courtney & Angus's property. The house is very well designed and their eye for detail impeccable. Courtney and Angus are very attentive and responsive hosts . When can we go back
Stayed with 3 generations and we all loved it, planning when we can go back as it was the easiest and most delightful holiday. Courtney and Angus have thought of everything, I particularly appreciated their attention to the details like organic dishwashing detergent and the compost. The outdoor shower was magnificent after the beach and the kids had hours and hours of entertainment with the arcade games. Thanks so much for having us!

Unique, comfortable and chic.
The Royale is in a great location. Its an easy walk to catch the ferry to Cronulla , and the local food and coffee spots. It’s a very short walk to Horden’s Beach. If you’re into bushwalking it’s very close to the start of the Coastal walk and Jibbons trail. If you’re not into walking the house itself is perfect for chilling out with plenty of places to read a book, drink coffee or wine and relax. Thanks Angus and Courtney for providing such a gorgeous place to enjoy your beautiful part of the world. We hope to return and definitely recommend The Royale as excellent holiday accomodation.

Perfection among the gum trees
All new comfortable 3 bedroom; 2 bathrooms; stunning architecture with 2 decks, fun colourful decor, kitchen with cafe style servery to lower deck. Generously equiped; very clean with all the mod cons; wifi; lots of DVDs; cosy blankets; kitchen extremely well equiped for all cooking needs. A few minutes walk to beautiful Hordens beach, shops and cafes. Very helpful lovely owners.

Great weekend at Retro Royale
Despite pretty atrocious weather, we had a great weekend at this funky, super comfy property. Owners Angus and Courtney were really welcoming and went out of their way to give us helpful local advice and make our stay really enjoyable. The Royale is newly built but has bags of character with the eclectic mix of 70s and 80s furnishings and homewares. The kitchen has absolutely all you need and a cool little bar area connected on the deck. Beds are super comfortable and the master bedroom has a great little reading nook window seat where I spent a number of hours. The house is in a brilliant position; only a few minutes walk to the beach and shops/restaurants . We had a rainy and windy weekend so would love to come back in sunnier weather. Highly recommended!

A perfect escape
Located a really easy 1 hr drive from Sydney, this house was the perfect place for my friends and I to unwind for a long weekend after a stressful term of homeschooling. Courtney and Angus were lovely, helpful and accommodating hosts, who have built this dream holiday house in a great location - steps away from the beach and on the doorstep of some great bush walks. The house has been so thoughtfully decorated with a mixture of quirky vintage features and modern fittings, the bathroom and kitchens were gorgeously designed and interestingly decorated and the beds are oh. so. comfortable. We will be back for sure.
