Kookaburra Place is a spacious self contained, self catering apartment in leafy surrounds. Two bedrooms, lounge/dining, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, separate w/c. Your home away from home!

You have exclusive and private access to the garden apartment, with your own entrance and patio. The 100sqm apartment is ground floor and has high ceilings, so is beautifully cool. For those really hot days there is air conditioning.

Relax on the patio at the end of the day and enjoy the birdlife that visit the garden. Look out for our kookaburras!

* Undercover parking (one space) with additional parking on the street.

We live upstairs so we're available for answering queries and giving local area advice, but if it's absolute privacy you're after we respect that. Check-in is via key lockbox.

Family Visit
My son and I were visiting with my daughter and Her family. The rental apartment we stayed at was excellent and the owners, Tracey and Ross Hawthorne, provided the most excellent service. The apartment was clean, modern and provided with many amenities. I would whole heartly recommend this apartment for anyone staying in or about the Thornleigh/Sydney area.

Perfect stay
We had an extremely positive experience renting this property and dealing with the owner, Tracey. She was welcoming, friendly and responded immediately and kindly to all of our questions and requests. The property is very comfortable, well appointed, stylish, cozy, luminous, quiet. The bedding is comfortable. Nothing was lacking. The location is a fifteen minute walk to the Thornleigh train station (itself a thirty minute train ride to Downtown Sydney) which was very convenient.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful setting
We had a fantastic 5 nights staying in this exceptionally spacious flat. It was spotlessly clean with everything you need and lots of wonderful extras. Tracey was a very attentive host. Super quick to reply and nothing was too much trouble. The setting is beautiful and it’s wonderful to wake up to the sound of the kookaburras. I would recommend having a car as it’s a bit of a walk to the train. Although perfectly doable. Thank you for having us, we’d happily stay again.

Self isolation stay
We were a family of 2 adults and 2 young boys of 3 & 6. This apartment was perfect for active little boys with a back verandah and grassy backyard. Tracey was such a gracious host and provided an additional child stool and water jugs upon request. Ample equipment for making meals with. Foldable bed wasn’t too stable but we simply put the mattress on the floor ( in the boys bedroom as they don’t share a bed). Ample blankets and bed linen for use around the house. Aside from this the only challenge was moving our heavy bags up and down the stairs to the apartment entrance (we had packed to stay a month). It was a cold summer when we arrived but there were heaters to warm us up with. Kids books and board games were stored in the tv console along with novels and travel books. The room doors were a little sticky to open and close which is something that can be fixed for future. It’s a beautiful apartment, very modern and tastefully decorated. Perfect guesthouse for short to medium length stays. Highly recommended.

Faultless home from home
My friend and I stayed at the property after leaving Melbourne before the last lockdown when we were stuck in Sydney. The apartment was nicer than the pictures showed, was absolutely spotless and Tracey had thought of everything - right down to tupperware containers, laundry detergent and spare slippers. Very easy to find, about 10-15 minutes walk to the train station. Private and peaceful. It was winter so we didn't get to enjoy the bbq and outdoor seating but that would be great in summer. There were some lovely bush walks right on the doorstep and a supermarket just up the road. Comfy beds and bedding, fluffy towels, I literally cannot find a single fault.
