The location is good, very near to the metro station exit and near to places to find food. However, the mattress is quite hard. It is laid on top of a wooden platform which is old and creaks upon every movement. The walls of the room are quite thin, can hear the door slam very loudly next door because the rooms are close to each other. Overall I think the experience is ok but can be improved.

Super value for location
This is our second location at mayer inn. Due to its super convenient location we decided to come back again at the end of our stay. It’s located right across taipei main station (z2 exit), right beside shin kong mitsukoshi dept store. Easy to flag taxi from the back or front of the building. Close to so many eateries and even the legendary Liu beef noodle is only 3 min walk. The room itself is tiny but we managed to squeeze 2 big luggages and 2 small ones plus some personal bags. Washroom is spacious and has the fancy bidet. There’s common room and laundry also water refill station. If you plan to explore taipei the whole day like us and only spending time to sleep and wash, this is perfect for you. But if you plan to enjoy your room, perhaps look for another hotel.

Sound insulation is not good. Smells from toilet after the cleaner clean the room and aircon is off. Check in is super late 5pm. No glass cup only use paper cup which is not environment friendly .Wifi is super bad . Can’t connect always

Subpar experience and condition
Booked the room with a city view. Careful, most of the rooms are without windows. Room was advertised as being soundproof, but it was anything but! Extremely loud slamming of doors on neighbouring rooms, can hear chatter of guests in the hallway, and outside traffic noise was constant. Also the carpet is indisgusting condition, completely worn down and holey. The only positive is that it is directly outisde the Z2 exit of the subway, and also has direct lift access via the elevators to the underground mall.

Extremely noisy as lots of children talking loudly and playing. Counter services also need to improve most of the time I only see one single staff attending to customers. There's another sets of lift down to basement 3 which is directly link to train station exit so you don't have to climb the stairs at z2. (not the lift in front of checkin counter at level5 tho).
