SIDNEY

The property showed signs of age, but was generally in acceptable condition. However, the door to my room was slightly damaged, preventing it from closing or locking properly. I reported the issue to management, but was informed that it could only be opened from the outside with a key—essentially, I was advised to live with it. I'm unsure if this was a problem with other rooms, but some guests did slam their doors late at night, which was disruptive. Additionally, the "city view" was actually more of an alley view, which was not what I had anticipated.

Good choice in Taipei
The room is spacious and people at reception are very friendly and helpful. The location is good, close to a self-service laundry, supermarket and restaurants and the train station is not too far away.

The property is split between two buildings.. that wasn’t immediately apparent, but not really an issue after I was settled in… the room was in one side , breakfast was served in the other side. The street is very busy with traffic but I did not have any issues with noise at night. There was a slight maintenance issue with the door handle potentially coming loose, but it was resolved very quickly. Room service was very efficient and discreet. The one down side - it is not close to any MRT station (subway) - but it is very walkable to the night market and Dihua street.

Solid 3.5-4* review. Large hotel in a great location with plenty of food options in the area. Staff are lovely, helpful and speak good English. Stayed in 2 rooms in the Annex Building across 5 days. The first room was a no-window room on the 9th floor. Very large room with a huge bathroom. Did not feel claustrophobic at all. Good solid Aircon and spotless bathroom. Carpets and furniture tell their age but did not find it an issue. The sound insulation was perfect, we did not hear a pip. The second room was on the 2nd floor. Allegedly a higher tier room (with higher pricing). Oddly, slightly smaller in size and roughly in the same condition. This room also had a fridge whilst the previous one hadn't. Unfortunately, the bathroom cleanliness was average at best and felt slightly run down. This room also had a window facing the gap between the annex and the main building. As a result, the sound insulation was not great and you could hear the cars driving down the road. I would stay again and I definitely recommend the hotel. But the level of cleanliness seems to be a bit of a lottery 😅 . Personally I much rather preferred the windowless room on a higher floor.

I really liked staying at this hotel, the staff were excellent and the location was awesome. It was close to Dihua street and a short walk to the night market.

Room is big but sound proof not great, we kept hearing next door talking really loud (almost like yelling). Close to few bus stops, will need to walk more for the subway station.

The music and art madevmy girlfriend not feel completely good. The food was good. Sometimes better thsn others. The cleaning staff did an exceptional job. The front staff had everything we needed and were very friendly. The weight didn't have much at all. Location is perfect for getting to everything around Taipei. I could at times hear neighbors but the building wasn't bad for noise. The room had an unexpected jet tub which was big and pleasant. I also could shower. Plenty of cups. A refrigerator for food and freezer too. Bed was vrey comfortable with 4 big pillows and a big blanket. No laundry access but there is a nearby laundromat. The television only had movie channels in English.
