Woodland View Backwoods Cabin

Each of our newer Backwoods Cabins have a private full bathroom, dining area, living room and offers two private bedrooms.

The cabin kitchenettes have a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, electric skillet, hot plate, crock pot, coffee maker and electric tea kettle. They are also furnished with dishes and cutlery. Each cabin sitting and dining area offers plenty of room for you and your guests.

Our Backwoods Cabins can each accommodate 5 adults with one queen bed in each of the two bedrooms and sofa sleeper in the living room.

These Alaska Cabins also have picnic tables with outdoor grills if you want to cook up your catch of the day.

Great Stay!
This property was in a beautiful location right on the river. We were within a few minutes drive from resturants, shops, and nordic skiing in Talkeetna. We will be back.

Non existent communication when needed
The cabin was lovely, the location was great. Everything else was terrible. We got no information on how to check in. We had to find the phone number on Google after we discovered the name of the lodge which is not given to you on the Vrbo site. We actually had no idea. It was a lodge, we just thought it was a single cabin. The parking lot was being plowed when we arrived, there was no Management anywhere. We had to sit in our car for a hour and a half waiting for the plows to finish so we could park and get into our cabin. There was no power for our entire stay. We had no heat or lights. Even though the power outage was uncontrollable, we did not hear one word from management. They didn’t provide generators, lanterns, anything. We paid a higher price because we wanted a cabin with cooking facilities, which we did not get to use. I will not stay here again.

Great stay in Talkeetna
Spent two nights at a cabin with 4 adults. Comfy and cozy with all the amenities needed. Great location. Only thing that would be nice would be signage closer to the road as it is easy to drive right by but otherwise awesome. Super nice office staff. Would stay here again.

Beautiful cabin with river view!
The cabin was perfect—comfortable beds, kitchen, cozy main room and great front porch with river views. The setting was beautiful with trees all around. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

Cozy, clean cabin with great view.
Two couples stayed 2 nights in this cozy backwoods cabin. We enjoyed the quiet environment and loved the view of the river and mountains with a short walk down by the river. It’s close to shops and restaurants in Talkeetna.

The kitchen is way too small to be functional. The sink is a wet bar sink and is too small to wash dishes. We had to rearrange the furniture so we could all sit at table. Other than that, great location and nice grounds.

Absolutely Perfect
10/10 will be booking here again with the family! Absolutely not their fault but VRBO had a glitch and wouldnt let me message the host to get the check in instructions. Luckily this is a small lodge area and I was able to call them directly and confirmed everything. VRBO support was next to worthless and never even called me back. I recommend reaching out directly for your booking which I will do next time as well.

Cabin was great! It was so cute yet spacious at the same time with two rooms that had comfy beds. Comfortably slept us 4 adults. Had a nice little kitchen area, bathroom, and living room. Located right on the river where we could see Denali perfectly in the morning. Great find!

Loved our stay. The staff had great suggestions on the activities in the area. Had a amazing time on the Mahay’s Jet Boats going to Devil’s Canyon. Suscitan River Lodge is very convenient to The town of Talkeetna. It was a great place to visit - amazing food and shops. Even joining in on the fun at the park with the Moose poop drop. Thank you Sustina River Lodge for a wonderful experience.

Cozy cabin with lovely views
The Backwoods Cabin was a wonderful place to spend a few days. Electric fireplace created a cozy space to warm up after a day exploring. The river views from the covered porch were nice. Close to town, but quiet location. Housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
