Feel free to find my Google review but long story short: one star for service. I complained after two nights bc the last night there were like ten ants in the bathroom that I had to kill, a spider on the wall, and tons of mosquitos (the mosquitos were expected) but the ants and other microscopic bugs were in the bed. Instead of saying I’m sorry and moving on, the owners had to belittle me instead. Made me feel like a spoiled brat. Said “I’m not sure if you don’t have ants in Mexico but we’re in nature right now”. Well these were red ants. One bit me. Woman tried to tell me I was a liar. I was simply writing MY opinion on MY experience and instead the owners attacked me on Google review. The bathroom in the private room with its own bathroom smelled like sewer. So strong. You had to have toilet and door closed otherwise it would stink up the room. Showering and getting ready I had to hold my nose. Walls are thin. Location is great. Owners also called me “phony” on Google review because I was smiling at people?? I’m just expecting for the owners to also call me a princess on this review. My boyfriend left a review sticking up for me. What I got from my conversation and the response to the review was that you should expect bugs in your bed because we’re in the wilderness?? Weird because we stayed in a bungalow in La Fortuna for 4 days IN the jungle and didn’t have an issue with bugs in our bed :) after reading other reviews top, the owners seem unprofessional so just be aware!!
Fun place! Well-kept, with common kitchen & nice staff. (And I had private room that was lovely & well worth the price.) Attracts cool folks from many parts of the world. Easy to make friends. ...and just a few streets over from the beach, & from food & nitelife. Really enjoyed!
I had an amazing time at Tamahostel. I met alot of very interesting people from all over the world. The grounds and facilities are kept clean. It is also close to the beach, shopping and restaurants. I would not hesitate to stay there again and I highly recommend it.
Stayed in the tents and while it was kinda cool it was also fairly uncomfortable. The bed wasn't great and it was very hot. For the price we paid we could've just gotten a hotel. There is a fan but it makes a lot of noise. The hostel itself is very nice and has a good pool. Very walkable to the beach and the staff are very nice. Recommended if at a cheaper price.
Private suite in this hostel is incredible! Nice decor and confortable bed. Common areas including the swimming pool are well maintained. Highly recommended!
