Holidays in Tammin

When chucking a sickie becomes way too simple, it's time to abandon the corporate treadmill and say hello to Tammin!

It's located 3,000 kilometres west of Canberra, the capital of Australia.

Seeking some other nearby localities? Kellerberrin is about 20 kilometres to the east, so jump in the car and start exploring! Alternatively, Cunderdin, 25 kilometres west of Tammin, is also worthy of a day trip.

York, 70 kilometres to the west, may be worth a day trip. You can use it as a base when swinging by Holy Trinity Church, the York Motor Museum and the York Residency Museum. If you need more persuading, other close by sights include York Mill and Gwambygine Pool Conservation Reserve.

If you're keen for something a bit more energetic, you could take a look at the local hiking options. Or perhaps four-wheel driving is more appealing? Whichever you choose, you're sure to have a fantastic time.

A clear day is an excellent opportunity to venture outdoors and spend a relaxed afternoon shore fishing. If the pleasant weather keeps up, also try wildlife watching.

How about hopping on some wildlife spotting tours and winery tours? Learn from your knowledgeable tour guide as you take in everything that the area has to offer.

Whether you're splashing about in it, drifting on it or zipping across it, nothing beats being next to the water. You can get involved in a few watersports here, such as swimming and snorkeling.

Spend some time looking at the hidden wonders of the region's art galleries.

Your eyes shouldn't get to have all the fun while visiting Western Australia. Give your taste buds a little attention too by indulging in the local food and drink. After all, you haven't really experienced a place until you've tasted its flavours.

Are you a fan of beef? How about lamb? Whether you're keen on them or not, they are two typical ingredients commonly used in the cuisine here.

There's always a local recipe or two that you need to tick off the list, and during your time in Tammin, salt and pepper squid is one of them. Meat pie is another local classic that's sure to make an impression.

Do you still have a bit of give in your waistband after dinner? Then put in an order for peach melba, a mouthwatering sweet treat.

If you're feeling a bit thirsty and would love to indulge in a glass of amber nectar, we recommend Emu Export. Take advantage of happy hour, mingle with the locals and have fun!

Bundaberg Spiced Rum is what most locals drink when the evening calls for something a bit stronger. Ask the bar person for a sample and see if it hits the spot.

There's a wine barrel full of reasons to order Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon or Great Southern Shiraz. These flavoursome drops beckon wine lovers from far and wide.

With a bit of planning, getting to Perth Airport (PER), the nearest airport, shouldn't be too difficult. It's approximately 150 kilometres to the west of the centre of Tammin.
