I went to the long to check in at 2 in the morning. Coming back from work very tired and sleepy. I meet with a guy from the Middle East or maybe Indian, not saying it to be racier but to describe my experience to the fullest. I have him the same debit cards I used to pay for the hotel to secure a deposit. The man went to tell me that the card doesn’t belong to me, even though my name is written on the card and I gave him my ID. He demanded to see a picture of my grandmother who customized my card graffiti with. After many back and forth of the idiot not letting me check in, I told him I’m starting to get pissed off. All of a sudden he said now I’m disrespecting him and that he’s offended. May I remind you all he’s checking Caucasian customers left and right while I’m standing here and he’s denying me entry to the hotel because he thinks I’m trying to check in with a stolen card. After an hr of standing there and waiting for the booking company to resolve the issue, he comes back and apologize. That was the worse experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. Well it was a motel to be fair but I don’t recommend that anyone who is of color to go there and be prejudged.
