Beautiful and peaceful place to stay. Well maintained and very friendly staff. Clean. 10 mins. Taxi ride to Kasbah. Socco Alto mall 10 mins. Walk away. Safe neighborhood with security around. We would stay here again.
Very nice location although far from any attractions. Issues with the AC remote being missing, but they solved it within the hour. Then the shower drain was clogged and would drain properly, but they plunged it out. The TV only had one channel, which was also strange and inconvenient. Breakfast was nice, bed was comfortable and service was very attentive and welcoming. Pool was beautiful.
We loved staying in Dar Tanja. Amenities, staff and food all wonderful. Excellent breakfast, Amira the best hostess ever. The only thing it was very disturbing was the price of the city tax, Travelocity said pay at property one price and the final tax was 10 times more. Better communication between the hotel and the agency would prepare us better.
As a solo traveller, Dar Tanja being a gated property was reassuringly safe and private. The pool is a good size in a lovely setting. The staff- Mirwan couldn’t do enough to accommodate for me at breakfast as I am a vegan. Very much appreciated that. Thank you. The room was comfortable with a balcony.
Shower not well cleaned. Not most hospitable staff compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at in Morocco. Also most expensive “tax” payment requested out of all 5 hotels I’ve stayed at in Morocco
ממליצה מאוד על המלון. נהנינו מאוד לשהות, מהחמאם והעיסוי

Dar Tanja was a lovely find. The room was spacious, well appointed and very comfortable. The staff was great, the lobby area was sophisticated and the grounds were beautiful. the breakfast was also elegant and delicious.
This has been the best place we have stayed in Tangier. The staff was great and helpful at all times. Dar Tanja is a hidden gem! Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it is a perfect place to relax and spend time away from the daily routine.
There were just a few minor things that can be improved: the wifi in the main living room was weak. The curtains in the bedroom are off its rods, so not easy to pull, and the menu is limited (but all the food was delicious). These are minor things that can be improved even though they did not affect my overall impression of the place.
We loved our stay at Dar Tanja. It is a family owned villa located in a quiet gated community at the end of a residential street. It is a safe area to walk. The shopping mall which includes a grocery store and banks is only a 15 minute walk away. Even the red hop-on/hop-off tourist bus has a stop just two blocks away. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The meals are (we had breakfasts and dinners) were fantastic and very reasonably priced. Our room, the house and grounds are beautiful and very comfortable. Our stay was 5 nights and we would definitely stay here again the next time we are in Tangier. We recommend this place to anyone looking for a wonderful place to stay in Tangier.
Dar Tanja is absolutely stunning and the customer service was amazing. I would highly highly recommend. Make sure to let them know if you are arriving after hours as there isn't an all night desk, but luckily they were still able to take care of us. If you don't stay here then you are missing out on the true Moroccan experience.
This property and the staff make you feel like staying at your own home. Staff are very friendly, courteous and helpful. The location is excellent, very upscale and safe neighborhood. Our room was spacious, clean and all needed amenities in place. Highly recommended for guests that wanted calm and relaxing.
My BF and I stayed at Dar Tanja for 3 nights for our first time in Morocco and it was amazing! It was close to the old and new Medina of Tangier and we were able to do a day trip to Chefchaouen and be picked up from Dar Tanja. We had the complimentary breakfast daily which was amazing, and dinner there every night as well that was wonderful. I also did a massage that I liked as well. The staff is wonderful and all very sweet. We will definitely return.
Dar Tanja is one of our favorite hotels we've ever stayed in! It's small & tucked away, with a lovely pool, beautiful rooms with comfortable beds, a truly delicious breakfast each day, and the kindest staff. We wish we had stayed longer than a weekend - this is a must-visit in Tangier!
Compared to the week we spent in Morocco in different places, this was by far the worst experience.
They asked for way higher tourism tax than was stated in my booking. The issue got escalated and the person who seems to be the owner came and was very rude. They wanted us to believe that I was lost between the tourism tax and the VAT.
The room did not have any wifi because it seems that Expedia rooms don't have Wifi. The bath was designed in a very bad way that you can't shower without making the whole floor wet.
It was an overall bad experience although we came in very late and left very early even before breakfast started.
