The room condition was very poor and poorly maintained. There was evidence of mould and an effluent leak in the sewerage on to the bathroom floor. Requires inspection by booking sites.

An earlier stay on other side of property encouraged us to stay again on way home from trip despite thinking we had booked same accomadation we were shown to a different side area .Check in was not pleasant .on entering room smelt .usty .faded pink polar fleece down end of bed .cobwebs around air conditioner .As we had business in Taupo left our bags and returned some hours later.Black mould in corners of windows .bath not clean .bath surrounds peeling.taps an handles encrusted with rust .couldnt get tv to work properly curtains well past prime .Went out to dinner at nearby restaurant .when we got back discovered used condom on floor when we moved a bed side table for better access .On complaining to reception got the its a cheap room what do you expect attitude .we were somewhat surprised it seemed same rate as other stay .She accompanied us to room with as much bad grace as possible .When shown condom she said what do you want me to do about it ?do you want me to remove it .????After a very unpleasant exchange we were made to feel our expectations re cleanliness to high. It was a cleaner not doing her job .we persisted although told no other vacancies but were eventually given another room .constantly being made to feel we were unreasonable.My husband raised his voice admittedly trying to explain issues but the owner who was called kept referring to us kiwis who wanted things for nothing and basically accused 2.72 year olds of planting black mould and condom

Its a good distance from town and awesome spot for walking and safe. Reception is friendly. It's close to restaurant next door for food and a cold beer. Stayed here before.

The shower was unsafe, no hand rails, no where to put soap, face cloth etc,in the shower and towel rail broken. Because there is a step up and into the shower, there definitely needs some firm handrail.

Our room (for 3 single people) was dated and shabby. The single beds were uncomfortable. TV was old and to the side of the room which made it difficult to watch. We stayed 2 nights, rubbish wasn't emptied or towels replaced. Wouldn't stay here again as very overpriced for the facilities offered. Owners need to put hand in pocket and do some upgrading.
