Indeed it's an impressive building with highly interesting architecture. Traditional Georgian architecture blended with modern installations such as a large aquarium in the eating area. The overall rating is low due to the sad and low performing service provisioning of the hotel staff. The check in was a usual early morning for travellers who go to this region where flying hours are off the regular flight schedule; midnight departures and 05:00 in the morning arrivals. The check out was flawless until the receptionist missed out on having me signing the credit card receipt, with me insisting twice to sign the thing. The room itself was in deteriorating condition, you can see the overall finish from the latest and only restoration, but hotels (not motels or B&Bs) require constant maintenance. We felt we we're placed in a bad room intentionally (not nice, but it happens with great frequency for people overall, which is terrible from a repetitional point of view). The comfort of the hotel room. Someone had dropped and burned the toilet plastic ring from a cigarette, the hotel is presumably smoke free, but a large ashtray was in the the room. The stain from the cigarette on the plastic toilet ring looked like a stain of urine - indeed very sexy. No shower curtain and burning hot water added to the hotel experience and overall low rating. The front door of the hotel was in terrible condition, if you want to open or close it you will need a bit of force. Enjoy your stay.
