Check in was at 3 we were there 15 minutes early worker got there 15 minutes late. There were black ants on the counter where microwave, coffee maker and sink to the bathroom was. Told the employee she went to a house next door and brought spray handed it to me so that my husband could spray?? The door knob was broken she’s said yea I know just use the dead bolt on top. There were no pillow cases on the pillows. Very expensive for the service we received

Super close to Sequoia National Park entrance. Very old motel but it was not dirty inside the room. Plus were the fridge, microwave, and ice machine. Very weird check in after 9pm. You have to stop at the Western Holiday which is about 10 minutes south of River Inn. Good thing I called the inn at 3pm and the lady told me. I called all day but no one picked up til around 3pm.
Property was fair, but when I tried to check in they were trying to tell me they over booked and was trying to send me to another hotel although I booked a month ahead. When I confronted her all of sudden they had a cancellation. They had towels that I wouldn’t use as a rags, their bed was so springy, slightest movement would shake and rattle.
Convenient location! This was the only place left last minute! It was fine for one night. The room was pretty musty and the whole inn is pretty outdated. No amenities. Our room was full of ants. Felt like the price was pretty high for what we got but I suppose that's location for ya!
This should be a last resort hotel choice. (It was for us as no availability anywhere close) Old mattresses, bedspreads, shower and the loudest a/c unit ready to fall out of the wall. Also, if you check in after 9pm you have to go elsewhere to get your key. On the bright side, you can’t beat the price and we didn’t see any bugs in our room and not terribly far from sequoia natl park entrance.
Check-in opens 15:00 we arrived 15.15 and waited / called for 30 mins and no luck. Had to carry on our day with a full packed car and when checking in later at 9pm the receptionist didn’t seem to care
Extremely Bad maintenance overall.. dirty carpet, uncleaned, scorpion on the bed, bathroom door knob loose / broken, showerhead at odd spot cannot bend easily. It’s as good as someone is living on a campgrounds and not in a hotel for such a high price.
Outdated, but served our needs. The TV worked, wifi worked.

Linens were flimsy and not sufficient for even a one night stay. Had to wait for office to open for our 3:00 check-in. Calling it river inn was misleading as there was no river access or view. Bed and pillows were comfortable but that’s about it. Oilers were in poor working order with some not useable. Would never recommend this place, it should be shuttered!!

We were glad to stay at The River Inn as it was just at the foothills of the Sequoia National Park. There was Totem Marketplace next to the inn and it was awesome. The staff was amazing, their food was delicious and had a huge collection of souvenirs. The highlight of our stay was sighting a black bear cub on the property.
Dirty, not safe place to stay . Staff is not friendly. Surrounding area is not safe. Will never go back .

Perfectly fine. Good location. Adequate facilities
I see so many negative reviews for this place. I really don’t know what people are expecting. It is a motel in the middle of nowhere close to a national park. The shower works, the (noisy) AC works, the WiFi works, the TV works. The room was not exactly spotless but it was satisfactory . It is not the Ritz but it is perfectly adequate. I used it as a base to explore and a place to crash at night.
Expectations were low but this hotel managed not to live up to them. Where should I start.. Ants in the room, dirty room, cold shower only, extra charge for air conditioning if you’re not in the room etc. Horribly place - do not go if not absolutely critical and nothing else is available.
