There was a new employee and he was South-Asian working at the front desk. I couldn’t catch his name but despite him being new, he was very accommodating and made our trip super smooth. I was there for Toronto Pride. Thank you for helping us :)

This is easily the best value in downtown Toronto. My only real complaint was the lack of hot water, but outside of that, if you're looking for value and a place to stay that's very central, this is probably your best bet.

It’s an old hotel in Diwntown Toronto. The location is good but the hotel is quite old and needs renovation. Hot water in the room takes a long time to heat up.

Filmores is in a gritty corner of "old" Toronto. So many little restaurants on Dundas east, and plenty of local colour! Yes, there's a strip joint on the ground floor of the building, but that's what makes the place feel so authentic. Not for young families with children, but awesome for couples or singles, of any age, travelling on the cheap and looking for an urban experience. Staff was excellent!

Do not go there, no offense to the staff there, it’s a horrible hotel, we are shocked by opening the door with a mattress and two dirty yellow pillows with no covers no sheets on, we have to put sheet and pillow cover on ourselves, no blanket! That’s crazy! And it was so cold at night, no heating! Me and my friend we woke up at midnight to put our sweater on, it’s a gentle man’s club downstairs, not meant for business for women I guess, worst hotel experience

My wife and I came down from Montreal to see ELO show at Scotia Bank Arena. We didn't want to pay huge inflated hotel prices to be near the arena. We chose the Filmores, because it had very reasonable rates. The first impression of the outside is that it is an older building, but properly maintained. It does not have guest parking, so you have to use the pay parking lot beside the property. The lot offers a really good rate of $22 for the night with a 10am checkout and is manned 24hrs. So we felt safe leaving our car there. The surrounding neighborhood, is the typical Toronto east side, with few vagrants wondering around, really posed no problem. (I lived in the Vancouver East Side for a while, and is far worse. The Hotel has a strip club that is located below, and to be honest it did not really bother us at all, because the Hotel has it's own entrance leading upstairs to the lobby. The inside of the Filmores is dated but very well kept. I can see that the owners want to show that they take pride of their hotel. The front desk girl was very polite, and professional. Made a very easy check-in for us. The room we had was a single room with a double bed. Washroom with toilet and shower. The room was very clean. And the washroom was spotless. The only thing I didn't like was the mattress was a little bit hard but not uncomfortable. I wish I could go on about this hotel, but I only have 1500 characters to write this review. This hotel is now our "go to" hotel when in Toronto

No conditioner, toilet outside room and shower to. No breakfast included. So but everything outside is perfect: foods, drinks, walkway and shops is nearby. I recommend it for everyone traveler.
