We just spent a 4 night stay at The Albaston and had a lovely time. The room was immaculate and Kevin and Julie couldn’t have been more welcoming. Breakfast was lovely and the B&B was in a great spot. The bar was a good place to unwind after a busy day. Thanks to Kevin and Julie for a great stay!
Sam and Den (stayed in Beachcomber room).
Genuinely could not fault our stay at The Albaston. Everything was exceptional! Kevin and Julie are fantastic hosts and are lovely people. Breakfast was amazing and our room was perfect. The dogs were the main highlight for us though!
Room was lovely, stayed in the observatory room. Kevin and Julie were really friendly. Breakfast was great, especially the fruit bowl. Stayed a week, room not cleaned due to covid. Did ask for fresh bedding halfway into the holiday and this was done for us. Only 10 minutes from town but a bit of a climb uphill from the town.
What a great place to stay! Attention to detail is paramount at The Albaston both in the decor and facilities and the excellent breakfasts! Keith's breakfast fruit bowl was honestly the best I've ever had! And the full English is absolutely excellent!
We stayed in Valentino - quirky, special, and a large room on the first floor (there's no lift) and it was super! The restaurant is sunny & bright and the menu extensive. We loved the time we spent in Oscar's bar in the hotel, again a different, great place to be! We enjoyed the different art around the hotel (some of it painted by Julie!) and appreciated the quality of everything!
The hotel is in a good position in Torquay, everything's walkable! Every room is different so we'll be visiting again to try a diiferent one soon!
Decor was good. They’ve spent a lot of money on the place and take good care of the property. The breakfasts were extremely good.
The bar is only open from 8pm on Fri and Sat nights. Car park is tiny, but there’s ample free parking on the road.
Lovely view in old fashion room - very comfy Kevin owner was very chatty and welcoming - cleanliness was of a extremely high standard with highly exceptional breakfast served. Thank you again
We were in the executive sweat . Great room had great touches. All the rooms looked nice . The hotel was great . Staff always helpful. Lovely breakfast. Not far from Torquay town etc . Would definitely stay again . Thanks for all your help
We were there for 5 nights and were made welcome from start to finish, the albaston has a nice bar area, and if you wish to sit outside there is a wonderful decked area .
The breakfast is first class, cooked to order,
Would highly recommend this hotel
Absolutely amazing, so clean, comfortable, COVID secure. Kev the owner is adorable. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return if I’m ever in the area again.
The Albaston is one of the (if not the) most friendly B&B’s we have stayed at. Kevin & Julie are true superstars who go that extra mile to ensure you have a fantastic stay with them. Highly recommended and would stay again without hesitation.
Recently spent 4 nights at the albaston. Kevin and julie really looked after us from when we arrived until we left. The breakfast was exceptional and room was spotless. Will not hesitate to stay here again when in Torquay.

Disliked: Staff & service
No hot water for 2 days in the bathroom and when we complained the owner Kevin and his wife Julie were shouting at us and it was a bit scary.
I could not believe how rude they were even though they were the ones at fault. Kevin said you shaved in my bathroom and now I have to clean it. Julie said is that what you people do when you go on holiday- complain about things and try to get money back. She was like I wonder what would it be if there was no hot water problem.
They agreed to refund us for one night but they didn’t give us any money back.
