Traditional farmhouse in pretty rural setting

To sample this lifestyle why not stay at this lovely renovated farmhouse Gite or Fermette as it is known locally, situated in the village of Tortefontaine close to the market town of Hesdin, just on the border of Picardy and Pas-de-Calais. The Fermette has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, lounge, fully equipped kitchen and dining room. There is a tv and dvd player (a large selection of dvd's are available) in the lounge there is a smart tv and wifi connection and excellent mobile phone signal.
There's a small courtyard garden to the rear of the property and very large garden at the front. Also in the garden is a large games rooms with football table, pool table, bar billiards table and a dart board. There's a great enclosed area for children to run free. For small children there are swings, climbing frame and slide. A large trampoline is also available. The location is ideal for an activity holiday or just relaxing. The local area is great for fishing, cycling walking and eating as there are many lovely local restaurants to sample.
The village of Tortefontaine is ideal as a base to visit the many interesting places nearby such as Arras with it’s beautiful squares lovely restaurants and WW1 tunnels. From Arras why not take the TGV and after 50 minutes arrive in Paris.
Many famous battles were fought on your doorstep from ancient to modern. try Agincourt and it’s visitor centre where in 1415 Henry V defeated the French army, Crecy where in 1346 Edward III defeated the French; The Somme Battlefields that are synonymous for WW1. Thiepval Monument and many other interesting and moving sites are nearby.
You don't have to venture far if you want to experience the French culture, Northern France in the Sept Valleys has endless empty, well maintained roads to drive along, the people are really friendly and there is a lovely slow pace of life
It is 40 minutes from the beaches and golf courses of Le Touquet, Berk, Merlimont and Fort Mahon . There are also a number of childrens theme parks situated close by. Further afield you can visit the beautiful city of Rouen synonymous for the execution of Joan D’arc which has many medieval timbered buildings, or why not go to Ypres in Belgium for a day?
