Lake front villa with private beach and swimming dock, breathtaking lake views

Architect designed waterfront villa with private dock, sleeps 8, ideal for two couples and 4 children (the bunk bed and the sofa bed are comfortable for children or teenagers), in 3 bedrooms Villa Coccodrilla is directly on the lake with a private dock just minutes from the village of Bogliaco, the town of Gargnano and the city of Toscolano Maderno.  The villa is built snug right between the hill and the lakeside, its porches and terraces reaching right into the lake. It sits on the edge of the lake like a satisfied crocodile, ready to slip into the water at a moments notice, and thus the name “Coccodrilla”.  The house was built in the 1960s by the famous Belgian architect Leon Stynen , as his own personal vacation home, and it has been published in various journals. It was rennovated in 2016, with new kitchen and redecorated bathrooms.|

Bedrooms: Sleeps 8 in 3 bedrooms, all with beautiful lake views. Bedrooms are: one double with ensuite, one with two single bunkbeds and one family suite with double bed and sofa bed that opens to two singles.
Bathrooms: 2,5 bathrooms, one ensuite to the double bedroom, one with access for the other two bedrooms, and one powder room (toilet only) upstairs for use from the common areas.
Kitchen: Fully equipped brand new kitchen, with all major and minor appliances, including dishwasher, microwave, toaster and Nespresso coffee maker.  Seating for 8 at the dining area table
Lounge: lounge area with stereo and TV, seats 8-10, with stunning lake views
Outdoor Dining/Lounge: Spacious portico with stereo music,with lake view, with marble table for 8 and lounge furniture, as well as small built in barbecue
Private access to the lake & Dock: there is a private access to the lake and a private dock for swimming as well as short term boat mooring. Please note that the dock is not designed for boats larger than 8m and not for regular or long term boat mooring. Sudden winds can cause damage to boats moored on the dock, so use at your own risk.
Garden: private garden on terraced levels with steep slopes, with mature trees and flowers, fully fenced.

The villa is located on the main road just before Bogliaco, a small village that is part of the town of Gargnano. Though the villa is on the main road, the road is above, at the top of the hill, and the villa is nestled right down at the bottom of the hill by the lake, so your privacy is absolute and the road is not too noisy. You can reach Bogliaco in just a few minutes on foot (about 500 meters, but along the busy road so not a tranquil stroll), where you will find a couple of good bars for your morning capuccino as well as the restaurant “Allo Scoglio”, one of our absolute favourites for fish, with a lake front terrace and very child friendly. Gargnano town centre is another 1.5km down the road, and here you will find a number of small shops, 2 restaurants with a michelin star (Tortuga and Villa Feltrinelli) as well as a number of other excellent restaurants and pizzerias. Here you will also find the lake garda ferry port, where you can catch a ferry to any other port on the lake. In the other direction, about 5km down the road, you will find the city of Toscolano Maderno, a small city with all the services for the local villages and towns. Here you will find the large supermarkets, many restaurants and pizzerias, a fantastic weekly market (thursday mornings), and another ferry port. For golfers, the Bogliaco Golf club is just around the corner, in the hills just above the villa.

Herrlicher Urlaub in alter Villa
Die Lage direkt am See mit privatem Steg ist exzellent (der „Strand“ ist allerdings steinig) Die Straße „oben“ ist vom Haus aus kaum zu hören, allerdings die Wellen bei Nacht. Am Essplatz mit großem Tisch aus Marmor haben wir sehr nette Abende verbracht. Die Architektur ist aus den späten 60ern oder frühen 70ern und hat viel Charme - auch wenn es langsam Zeit für eine Renovierung wird und ein richtiger Backofen anstatt des Minigrills geboten wäre. Der Zugang ist nur mit dem Auto möglich - an der Hauptverkehrsstraße gibt es keinen Gehweg. Die Einfahrt ist etwas abenteuerlich, aber machbar. Es gibt einen Garagenstellplatz für ein mittelgroßes Auto und einen Außenstellplatz direkt davor. Das Rangieren ist etwas mühsam. Wirt hatten Glück und konnten auch die 2 Stellplätze des Nachbarhauses nutzen, da die Eigentümer abwesend waren. Fazit: Ein herrlicher Urlaub in einer Villa mit Charme, die etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist.

You can't be closer to the water than in this place. A real pearl for fans of 60s architecture. A small drawback is that the sun sets quite early. Nevertheless, absolutely recommendable!

Wir lieben dieses Haus. Morgens aufzuwachen und direkt den Sonnenaufgang zu sehen, den See rauschen zu hören. Die Ausstattung ist toll, die Zimmer perfekt und unser Urlaub somit wunderbar.

Gute Betreuung und gute Lage. Das einzige Manko: Die Garage ist recht klein (unsere Fahrzeuge haben nicht rein gepasst). Ansonsten top.

Super Lage, sehr sauber, Hausnummer leider doppelt mit Nachbarhaus, 228? Anreise deshalb „holprig“,umso schöner war der erste und letzte Eindruck. Einziger Makel: Kein Backofen. Es war aber trotzdem wunderbar. Die Betreuung durch „Holiday Garda“ war perfekt!

außergewöhnlicher Urlaubsort
Wirklich ungewöhnliche Lage direkt am Wasser und schön renovierte Villa. Wer eine ruhige Woche direkt am Wasser verbringen möchte und dies in einer ungewöhnlichen Umgebung ist hier gut bedient. Zu Fuß geht nichts wegen der Lage direkt an der Straße, ist aber ja auch in der Beschreibung zu lesen. Uns hat der Flair und das Haus an und für sich sehr gut gefallen. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind nah, auch kann man gut Essen gehen. Wer mehr Geld ausgeben will kann einen volleb Service haben. Der Kontakt war perfekt, alles sehr gut organisiert. Das Haus war schon mit allem notwendigen bestückt, so dass auch Selbstverpflegung kein Problem war.

Das Objekt gefiel uns gut, inbesondere die Architetur des Hauses ist bemerkenswert.
Die Lage des Anwesens mit Bootssteg direkt am See ist wunderschön. Leider wird zum Verlassen des Hauses ein Fahrzeug benötigt, weil es zu Fuß über die Straße viel zu gefährlich ist. Die Heizungsanlage ist in die Jahre gekommen, wir hatten morgens kein warmes Wasser und konnten die Anlage jeweils nur mit "gutem Zureden" wieder in Gang setzten. Die Parksituation ist ausreichend, allerdings ist die Ein- bzw. Ausfahrt heikel auf Grund des üppigen und unübersichtlichen Verkehrs . Für das Verbringen der Koffer ins Haus benötigt man Kondition wegen der vielen Treppen. Entschädigt wird man mit einem schönen baumbestandenen Garten und einem Superblick auf den See und die gegenüberliegende Seite.
