Extremely friendly
Beautiful hotel, lovely staff especially in the bar/restaurant where you made to feel extremely welcome. My room was at the front of the hotel. It was a shame that the Italian motoring enthusiasts were revving their cars outside the window, but don't let that stop you from using this excellent hotel

We booked 3 rooms at this property the night before our cruise, departing out of Trieste. It was the perfect solution! Great pricing, very walkable and convenient, so much to do in the area. The hotel was comforable (albiet rooms a little small, but very comfortable). The area around the hotel was wonderful and so many great restaurants. The staff was very helpful and stowed our luggage until our we left for the cruise port. They promptly arranged transportation for us to the port....yes it is walkable, but you really don't want to schlep your bags.....the taxi was quick, easy and inexpensive. But the most impressive thing was the AMAZING breakfast. I have never seen a spread like the one that they put out. It was stunning.....one would expect to pay $25 for the breakfast alone...but to have it included was incredible. Trieste is a beautiful area and we hope to travel there again.....when we do, we will absolutely book at the Modernist.

This is a wonderful hotel with the most helpful staff in Trieste. The room was large with a comfortable bed and the shower felt great after some travel. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. I highly recommend!

Location is good. Everything else is only ok
Hotel is in a very good location. Walking distance to the sea front and in the center of the old city. Bar and restaurant on the ground floor. So very noisy in the evening time if you stay on 1st floor. It was leaking under the shower door, so after shower, there would be quiet lots of water in the bathroom floor. No parking/ street parking around the hotel, there was private parking offered for 27 euro/ day. They will take the car key and park for you and bring the car back when you need it. Breakfast is only ok, not many choices.
