Overall I had an excellent experience at the Moxy hotel as a solo traveller. The staff were very friendly, even helping me plan bus routes in to town and back, and giving me advice on things to do.
Being a new hotel, everything looks and feels fresh. Rooms were clean and spacious, if not maybe lacking some cupboard storage. The 11th floor bar/reception has fantastic views and is a very relaxing, enjoyable space to be in.
The only downside to the hotel is one that isn't the direct fault of the hotel itself: the location. It's the other side of the island to the city centre, so is a 10min bus trip there and back every day. To be honest, I didn't really mind it too much as the buses were so convenient, frequent, reliable, and cheap (I bought a week unlimited pass for about £20, £25 ish), but I can see how it wouldnt be for everyone. Please don't be put off by this though - it really is easy, with a bus stop a 2min walk from the hotel, with well located stops in town, close to everything.
The area around the hotel is seriously lacking any restaurants, cafes etc, so you'd either have to eat in the hotel itself or go in to town. On the plus side to that, however, is that it's very convenient to the airport, so makes arrival and departure day a lot less stressful. I walked to the hotel from the airport on arrival, which was a pleasant 25min walk. And on departure day it was a 5min shuttle bus from outside the hotel to the airport.
Overall, very good hotel. Would recommend.
