Clean and well-equipped room with hairdryer, iron, rust-free kettle, and fresh bed linen. Some wear and tear on tiles in the bathroom and furnitures in bedroom, likely due to high traffic, but everything was clean and well organised. Hotel was flexible – extended my stay till 5 pm for just half-day rate, beyond the usual 1:30 pm limit. Affordable and convenient. Would visit again.

Nice hotel but poor breakfast

The hotel is huge. We got a room on the other side of the hotel which takes ages to get to. The breakfast has selection but minimal for my food intolerances and the food I could have didn’t taste great

Usually good but last trip was problematic

Marked down on the comfort rating. The air con in my room was broken with a known fault and the room was 28 degrees when I went in & had no openable windows. It was cooler in the corridor! I rang reception straight away but I was told they were fully booked and all they could do was give me a fan. I didn’t really feel like the person I spoke to cared that much. It took nearly half an hour to get the fan, and I lasted another hour in the heat before I couldn’t take it and had to ring again to ask for an alternative room. I did at that time speak to someone more considerate who would move me, but they did seem annoyed I had “used” the room (a bottle of water & a hand towel to wash my face in an attempt to cool down) and it would have to be remade by housekeeping so they could put someone else in it that night. Eventually I got the right result & they put things right with a different room but I didn’t think their initial reactions were representative of a premium hotel which was a shame. They also shouldn’t let a room with a known fault in the height of summer. I would stay here again in the hope it was a one-off blip but I would hope for better in the future.

The adjacent rooms seem to be partying all night keeping us awake. Security went to their rooms on a number of occasions, but our sleep was ruined.

We have stayed at DoubleTree many times. Reception staff are always welcoming. Evgenia is always friendly and helpful. She has checked us in on our last three visits. As a side note, we have witnessed a guest being quite rude to her and she communicated with them in such a professional manner. We sometimes request a room up-grade and the hotel has always been able to accommodate, even if it is for a specific room, so thank you House-keeping staff. The hotel is clean and the rooms are always spotless. The food in the Red Dot bar has always been served in good time and is always hot. We dined in the Pitchside bar/restaurant on our last visit. The kitchen had an issue with the gas supply. We were kept informed regarding our food order (delay) and received extra portions when the food arrived - result! We’re staying again this weekend - hope the kitchen has the same issue, ha ha ha. Would highly recommend this hotel to friends. I almost forgot... great warm cookies! Just one negative point - guests are charged for parking. Most hotels request that you register your vehicle but are not charged.
