We hope you enjoy your stay in our mountain home.
Your stay will be in our rustic, relaxing cabin with an unconventional layout. Dandelion’s Lair features 3 Bedrooms & 2.5 bathrooms. There is a fully equipped kitchen, with plates, silverware, pots, pans and everything you need to make a homemade meal. The Dining table seats 6 with a view of the front deck. The Living Room features a comfy reading chair and two large couches for maximum seating. A game table provides an area for family fun - along with a bookshelf of games. (During Christmas, we decorate with a tree, wreath and stockings.)
We regularly use our vacation home and love sharing it with others when we are not using it. We hope you love it as much as we do.
SOME IMPORTANT ITEMS AND INSTRUCTIONS:
RULES & REGULATIONS: See Attached Document
TV/DVD: There is a DVD player - feel free to bring your own DVD's to enjoy a night in! There is WI-FI, basic cable and a Smart TV to login to your favorite streaming accounts.
FIREPLACE/WOOD BURNING STOVE: Please buy your own wood to burn, we do not provide it. Please be careful with fire.
FURNACE: Heat is provided by a forced air gas furnace powered by propane.
CAMPFIRES: We do NOT allow any Campfires on the property, EVER, due to wildland fire danger.
AIR CONDITIONING UNIT: It’s located in the front by the driveway. Please make sure the cover is removed before turning it on inside the house.
HOT WATER HEATER: Located in the kitchen. Please keep it in between “A” and “B” if you have young children, up to “C” if it’s only adults, while you are there. When you leave, turn the dial to the lower setting.
CIRCUIT BREAKERS: Located outside on the south-east side. If outlets stop working, check the breaker box after removing and turning off the offending appliance. Flip the tripped breaker and “clear” it by switching it all the way off to all the way on. There are power failures, in a forest, when a tree falls, it not only makes a sound, it takes out power lines. In a big winter storm, this can happen multiple times on the same line.
WATER: It’s on for you!
BBQ: There is a propane BBQ grill for your use on the deck off the dining room. Check the propane tank; turn on the tank, and then light. Please clean and cover the BBQ after it cools down. There is also a charcoal grill as well, you must provide your own briquettes. Please do not light the deck on fire.
SHEETS AND TOWELS: are provided, but you may also bring your own. As mentioned, there is 1 queen sized bed, 2 full sized beds, 2 twin beds. Please wash and dry one load of used sheets or towels before you leave. All other used linens may be placed on the floor in front of the washer. You may leave a load drying in the dyer if you do not have enough time to finish. (Unless very soiled, comforters and blankets do not need to be placed in front of the washer - we wash these regularly offsite, as our machine cannot handle the large load.)
NEIGHBORS: they are all friendly, nice people. Please say 'Hello' and be considerate.
THE DRIVEWAY is narrow, needing ALL WHEEL DRIVE to make it up in WINTER. In winter, it's an icy slide of doom for any 2 wheel drive vehicle. We are not responsible for any injuries or damage you do with a 2 wheel drive car. ALL WHEEL DRIVE OR 4 Wheel Drive is recommended and required in WINTER. AWD not required in other seasons. We are at 3700 foot elevation, which is roughly the snow line for colder winter storms.
GARBAGE: we have garbage and recycling pickups on Mondays.
