When chucking a sickie becomes way too simple, it's time to take a breather from the corporate treadmill and say hello to Ulsteinvik!

It lies 380 kilometres northwest of Oslo, the capital city of Norway.

Make the short journey to Sula, 20 kilometres to the northeast. After you arrive, head straight to Alesund Aquarium.

Be sure to witness a sensational sunset at Hellesylt Beach, 60 kilometres to the southeast.

Could you do with a little time out in nature? Grab those car keys and drive to the Runde Environmental Centre, 13 kilometres away from Ulsteinvik. You can also get out into the fresh air at Hike to Kverve, 20 kilometres away.

Want to experience the area's religious side? Spend a quiet afternoon at Ulstein Church.

Remember to pack some orange and blue clothing so you can encourage the local soccer team, the Aalesunds FK, at Color Line Stadium. Located 25 kilometres away in Alesund, the stadium is also the home turf of the Fortuna Ålesund.
