Confetti Garden was a disappointment and when I find myself back in Vang Vieng next, I absolutely will not come back here.
The windowless room not located on the river. The non functioning refrigerator was unacceptable and the shower’s hot water didn’t work until you started running the sink. There are countless signs proclaiming their pointless rules (e.g. no eating in your room)
I paid for a king bed but it was two twin beds put together. I have encountered this before but usually they have a mattress topper to maintain the bed’s cohesion but not here where you could find yourself your bed drifting away from you and fall down the middle.
We booked a hot air balloon ride through the hotel and were advised that they will pick us up 5 minutes early for a 5:30 am sunrise departure. We were left waiting for about an hour because of the later sunrise. This is understandable but what isn’t is that the company called to inform the hotel but that information was not relayed to me. Poor service was a real downer to the trip. Their explanation that ‘no one was here to take the call’ was hardly reassuring. When it became time to pay they quoted USD but wouldn’t accept my bills due to imperfections. I then paid in Lao Kip but they converted the USD price at an unfavorable rate while being in Laos. That makes no sense.
Breakfast buffet was mediocre and I ate the minimum for sustenance. Sugar packets from random different airlines is telling.
I don’t recommend staying here.
