We stayed at Hyatt Vacation Club at Hacienda del Mar in January of 2026 and we were extremely disappointed with how our concerns were handled.
On a Saturday morning, we were woken up by active construction taking place in the rooms directly next to ours. This was not verbally disclosed at check-in, nor were we proactively placed in a non-construction area of the resort, despite other sections being unaffected.
When we approached the front desk, the response we received was simply that the construction information was “on the website.” That dismissive response was more frustrating than the noise itself. A simple acknowledgment or attempt at service recovery would have gone a long way. Since we booked through Hotels.com we did not see the small notice that there “may be construction”. Nor would we thought it would be happening on a Saturday from 8am to 6pm.
Construction happens. We understand that. But placing guests next to active work without warning, and then responding without empathy, does not reflect the level of service expected from a Hyatt-branded property.
If you are booking here, I strongly recommend confirming whether your room will be near any ongoing construction and requesting placement away from those areas.
