Very odd and disappointing experience. We were initially told we'd been transferred to their sister hotel because the Strudlhof's was full, and that it was the same spec, but the room was half the size and run down. We then returned to the main hotel, after a long faff transferring our luggage from the sister car park, and were put in a 5th floor suite room - which seemed generous until we realised the AC was broken (in hot weather). They couldn't fix and offered no compensation. Reception staff were odd. One refused to tell us his name. Our request to extend our stay by a night at the same rate we'd booked was refused, we were told we'd have to rebook and move rooms. Then on the final day the supervisor picked a pointless argument about checkout times many hours after we'd already checked out.

I showed up and was told there was a "small problem." The "small problem is that there was no room for me, despite my reservation!! They sent me to another hotel & didn't even offer to get me a taxi or anything. I had to walk there, dragging all my luggage. I was late for a ticketed event as a result of this nonsense. Absolutely ridiculous. Guy at the front desk couldn't have been less helpful. Don't stay with these people!!

Hotel Strudlhof was a great find! First and foremost, it was CLEAN! In fact, it was spotless! My room was very large, far bigger than average, and it had an amazing amount of storage space. The beds were very comfortable, although the pillows were rather flat. Breakfast was generous, varied and delicious. It was served in a lovely restaurant. I was totally charmed by the beautiful neighborhood. It was very quiet but lively. Several restaurants and shops were within easy walking distance. All in all, this hotel is a winner!

Friendly service, a convenient location far away from any crowds and traffic but easily accessible by transit, and a clean and comfortable room. The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful! The breakfast was delicious as well.
