From Wacken, travel 60 kilometres to the northeast to reach Kiel, a prominent city. You can also head 140 kilometres to the east to visit another great city, Schwerin.

Does a seaside picnic sound like an amazing way to spend a day? Organise a day trip to Solitude Beach or Schillig Beach.

The calming sounds of the natural world await you at Eider Barrage. It lies just 45 kilometres away, so you won't have to be stuck inside a car all day. Multimar Wattforum information centre, 45 kilometres away, is one more recommended option.

If you're the kind of traveller who loves becoming immersed in the vibe of the place you're visiting, Stadeum is one for your must-see list. Check what live games are on while you're in town and cheer along with enthusiastic local sports fans. You'll find the arena 45 kilometres away in Stade.
