The Hamilton Hotel is in a quiet, convenient location to many sights downtown. The gentleman at reception was very helpful and was able to get us into a room before 12pm. The room was clean and we had no issues. Unfortunately, our stay was ruined by the manager of the restaurant, Via Sophia. We choose to end our stay with brunch at the restaurant prior to leaving. Our server and the bartender were lovely, however the manager on duty made it one of the worst restaurant experiences we've ever had. His treatment and poor leadership skills, not only made our meal awful, but you could tell it made his staff feel uncomfortable as well. A poor excuse for a manager and we unfortunately will not be returning.

Thermostat not working
Non working thermostat in room 233 which was quite unfortunate considering it was low 30s outside. Despite setting heat on and the room temperature to 72, the internal temp did not rise above 60 in the room. I don’t mind the cold as much but the girlfriend was not happy…

The restaurant and hotel have a wonderful vibe for the holidays. We had a great room with a view of the park all lit up for Christmas. For how busy things were, the staff was very warm and friendly. This is our second stay and we will be back.

Great location, tidy handsome room, with updated urbane decor. Three keys to a great room are 1-immaculate 2-excellent linens 3-a good bed. This hotel hits them all. As a coffee junky, can confirm that there are two excellent coffee houses nearby. One is a block down from the hotel on 14thNW (you can see it from the door!) and a Starbucks about two blocks West. Great dining all within walking distance (Via Sophia, in the same building, has great reviews, but we did not try it). Also within sight of the hotel is a dining club that I reckon morphs into a nightclub later on. It's busy, and everyone looks like they're having an excellent time. Maybe not for anyone who needs to go to bed by 9 (aka over 50), but hey, you never know.

As a professional musician, I was playing near the White House. The Hamilton was priced competitively while being within walking distance from that venue. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the room and the cleanliness. I have been in 1-5 Star hotels around the world. Price, location, accommodations etc. I'd give it 5 stars. Are there more extravagant hotels? of course but this was very clean, nice and comfortable hotel with a reasonable price.

Excellent Stay
Our overall stay was excellent, the hotel was located centrally about 3 blocks from the White House and there are so many coffee shops and restaurants around. Our room was always so clean everyday and we loved the food at Via Sophia too. The hotel lobby was beautiful. Would stay again here in the future!

Too Cold for Us
We had no heat from 3pm until the next morning. The hotel moved us to two other rooms .. neither of which had heat. We spent the evening huddled in the bed to stay warm.
