Upon arrival, there will be a welcome book to help you make the most of your stay (hidden gems, recommendations, local tips, etc.). I choose to give guest their space, however, if needed I’m available by text or email.

The apartment is in Old Town Alexandria. It's a 10-minute walk to Metro Rail and a 7-minute drive into Central Washington DC. Take a stroll along the waterfront or visit the famous Torpedo Factory Art Center. The Old Town Trolley offers free rides to explore the town and its numerous tourist attractions. Alexandria is conveniently located just a 7-minute drive from DCA and 15 minutes from downtown DC, making it the perfect base for exploring the capital city's wealth of cultural and historical attractions.

Just okay
The apartment was in a nice building, however, it’s a little unsettling when the windows don’t close and lock properly. The apartment as whole seems unclean. The walls had marks all over them in every room. The hot water did not last very long at all. All in all, we probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Not a good place to stay in Alexandria
To start, I was not filled in about the check-in process. The morning of my reservation I still hadn’t heard anything and that’s about the time that the communication with the property stopped for some reason. I called several times that morning and so did vrbo…no response. I didn’t get in touch with the manager until I was standing in front of the building. The major disappointment was the fact that the property sleeps 6 people based on the use of an AIR MATTRESS. This was never mentioned in the property description…I even double-checked upon check-in. I would’ve never booked this property had I known that. It proved to be a major hassle. We had to move the coffee table and kitchen table into the kitchen each night to make room for the air mattress. Then each morning we had to wrestle with the air mattress to get it into the bedroom to make room for people to sit in the living. Each night the mattress had to be blown up again. On top of that, there were crumbs in the pull out sofa and Cheerios underneath it, dirt under the bed, utensils were dirty, and the AC doesn’t seem to reach the bedroom. I had asked the property manager to refund some of my money when we got there. He offered to refund all of my money if we wanted to leave, but we already made the drive and had no where else to go. He said he’d look into a refund for me and that was all I heard from him. After we got back home, I called and emailed him several times, as well as Luxe on 5th directly…no response. I finally go him on the phone yesterday. He offered to give me 70 measly dollars back. He reasoning was that I decided to stay. His suggestion was that I should’ve tried to find another place to stay. So use my vacation time to try and find another place to stay, and if not, I guess head home after one night. He should’ve disclosed this when I asked him the first night. So now I’ve filed a complaint with vrbo’s corporate office who is looking into this issue. If you’d like a clean place with ample room and no air mattress, this isn’t the place for you. Believe me, there are many other places that offer comparable rates that had actual beds or pull out couches in Alexandria. I know this because I had seen many, but made the mistake of choosing this place. Don’t make the same mistake as me.

Good things in small packages!!
This one bedroom apartment was in a great location. My best friend came in to town. It was way better than sitting around on hotel beds trying to catch up. TV was roku ready making it easy to sign into any streaming service you may already use. Trader Joe’s within walking distance for snacks AND wine. 😊 Jon was quick to answer any questions. Would def recommend. Jody
