There was something off about this place. Seemed clean though.. no bed bugs.... definitely odor in air. NO pool, hasnt been one in years, even the front place lady said so. Side entrance doesn't work at parking lots. Parking lots on opposite sides of hotel and only 1 entrance in front. Place is dated. Gave you an actual key for rooms. Didn't even bother with the cold free breakfast after seeing a roach in am.

It was fine. Clean, but outdated. Quiet despite the hotel being full. I booked through Expedia 6 months prior to my reservation, which the hotel "lost" and as such, my room was downgraded from a king premium to a regular king and there was nothing they could do because I didn't book directly through them. I don't know that there was any real difference to the room, just some extra square footage, I suspect, and it was fine. The employees were all very kind.

We stayed at this hotel last year and were very pleased. Based on that stay we booked for the July 4th weekend. The young woman at the desk for check-in was upbeat & pleasant. The room was clean and reasonably comfortable. We had a very busy Friday and got in late after fireworks & entertainment. Saturday morning we were awakened by a very loud waste water pumper @7am! We were placed in a room at the very end of the hallway and this truck was literally directly outside our room. We let it go and continued about our very busy day. We were out from the morning until very late after a ballgame at Fenway & late dinner afterwards. Once again we were awakened on Sunday morning @7am by the SAME SEPTIC/WASTEWATER TRUCK! When my husband addressed it with the gentleman at the front desk he shrugged it off and was very dismissive. The hotel had very low bookings and there were MANY empty rooms far from the noise of this truck. Capacity was so low that the hotel did not provide a buffet breakfast on Saturday but instead provided a carb heavy grab and go breakfast that was reminiscent of traveling during COVID-19. Sunday morning a buffet breakfast was provided but there was no milk, other than chocolate milk which is not what my husband prefers in his coffee nor what my daughter uses on her cereal. There were several stores very close by where someone could have purchased a couple of gallons of milk for breakfast. My experiences in 2024 and 2025 were like night & day. Disappointed.

Great breakfast buffet, but just about everything else was disappointing. I’d had good experiences here about 20 years ago but I don’t think the hotel had been updated since then and it’s poorly maintained. We had a room for four with a sleeper sofa for our kids, and the mattress was terrible (even for a sleeper sofa). We asked for another room but they said the hotel was full, even though the parking lot was empty and we barely saw anyone else during our stay. There were no privacy curtains on the windows, so we had to keep the room-darkening curtains closed all the time. The phone didn’t work and one of the outlets didn’t work consistently either. There was only one USB charging port in the room. The room also had physical keys (instead of key cards) and one of the two we were given didn’t open the door. Sad to see the Regency has deteriorated so much over the years. Would not recommend staying here.
